May 4th 2010<br />Meeting Minutes<br />A regular meeting of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 175 was held on May 4th, 2010 at the Morgan Stanley Office, 4259 West Swamp Road Suite 400, Doylestown, PA. This list is not all inclusive.<br />Membership Applications: None<br />New members: None<br />Minutes of the previous meeting: <br />Corrections need to be made to 4 items before approval<br />Quartermaster’s Report:Disbursements$ 1249.52<br />Deposits$ 409.20<br />Petty Cash$143.14<br />The post is currently over budget<br />Service Officer’s report: Karl discussed the VA would not appeal the radiation decision.<br />Comrades in distress: None<br />Commander’s report: <br />Quarterly breakfast at Perkins will be Sat July 17th 8:30 AM, please advise if attending<br />Memorial Day Parade: meet at Assembly Point 5 at CB West HS 9:30 AM<br />Membership at 94 %<br />Community Service 1st Quarter Report – approximately 160 hours<br />Veterans Expo June 1st 4-7PM at Plumstead Fire Company, attendance by Fisher/McComb/Nowakowski/Marston/Staranowicz<br />Please Provide Commander with Community Service Hours <br />Senior Vice Commander’s report: Discussed website enhancements, Paypal is now available for donations electronically<br />Junior Vice Commander’s report: No Report<br />Public Relations: Intelligencer has not responded to request to print pictures of Neshamo<br />Educations Officer: No report<br />Poppies Coordinator: Weekend # 1 – approximately $1570 received in donations including a check for $300.00<br />Past Commanders Report: <br />Other Business: <br />Unfinished Business: <br />Attempts to contact Jayson Zimmerman failed, motion to rescind 1st Jim McComb 2nd Greg Marston/PASSED<br />Unclaimed estate awaiting response<br />Motion to buy pens as a advertising and gift item $300 – 1st Jim MComb /2nd George Meyers/PASSED Jack Beaver will take the lead<br />Notary Public for Post – Motion stays open/Ed Boom will take lead<br />$25 was approved last month’s discussion of Albert Snyder Defense Fund for Loyalty <br />Certificate of Appreciation will be given to Neil Wolfe for his efforts in the annual Christmas tree decorating at the Memorial Wall<br />New Business:<br />Motion for $200 for Colby Umbrell Bronze Star Scholarship Fund – 1st Bob Staranowicz / 2nd Greg Nowakowski/PASSED<br />Motion for $150.00 Gift for John Beaver on Deployment 1st Greg Marston /2nd Warren Kimmel PASSED<br />Scholarship fund for Elliot Teisler’s Son $200 – Jack Beaver / Fred Ewald – AMENDED to $500 –1st Greg Marston /2nd Jim McComb PASSED<br />Delegates Vote for Convention -- McComb / Marston / Kazlaukas PASSED<br />Good of the Order: <br />Hats and Shirts distributed<br />Invitation to WWII Museum at the home of Joe Solomon -- e mail Commander if interested<br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned, according to ritual, at about 2040.
