The cylinders have a structural shell wound from a hybrid of high strength carbon fibre blended with tough glass filaments. Combining these fibres with the proprietary resin systems provides outstanding toughness and durability against UV and significantly enhances the impact damage tolerance and mitigating damage from chemical or environmental attack as well as abrasion from improper handling or accidents. TUFFSHELL® fuel cylinders from Lincoln Composites can be used for storage of Compressed Natural Gas and Hydrogen up to 1050 bar service pressure for use in buses, trucks and gas transportation. LIGHTSTORE™ fuel cylinders from Ragasco are used for CNG applications in passenger cars and Light Commercial Vehicles being designed to fit into available space.
