9. LOAD FACTOR
LOAD FACTOR: is the ratio of seat kilometers occupied to seat kilometers offered during a period by an
undertaking. Alternatively it is the ratio of actual earnings to the expected earnings, at full load including
standees allowed
The load factor = Seat kilometers occupied
Seat kilometers offered

11. EARNING PER KILOMETER
EPK
= (Total Earnings) / (Total Effective Kilometers)
= (5973.05) / (272.82)
= 2189.37 ps.
12. Fuel efficiency can be termed as the relationship between the distances travelled by the vehicle
upon the fuel consumed by the vehicle (kmpl) (kilometers per liters of fuel)
Fuel efficiency = Distance travelled in kilometers
Fuel consumed in liters.
The fuel efficiency at APSRTC is 5.15 kmpl (2012-2013 till July)
FUEL EFFICIENCY
13. FUEL CONSERVATION METHODS
• APSRTC is spending about Rupees 3,000cr annually towards procurement of 70cr LTRs of High Speed Diesel and 1.5Cr
KGs. of CNG. This constitutes 34% of the total expenditure of APSRTC.
• By introducing, the use of Biodiesel with B10 blend (mixture of 90% diesel and 10% bio-diesel) in 1646 vehicles in 11
depots of Hyderabad and Secunderabad regions, Hyderabad-II depot of the Ranga Reddy region and all the depots of
East Godavari region in view for reducing 10 % Hydro carbons, 6% carbon monoxide and 6% particulate matter.
• The performance of the fuel usage and its efficiency is reviewed depot wise, region wise and zone wise from time to
time and can also be accessed by every employee of the corporation.
• Fuel saving awareness programs are launched every month of January, highlighting the need for saving and conserving
• The fuel performance is analyzed on the basis of classification of different categories of vehicles. Also on the driver
wise kilometers per litre (KMPL).
