1. 1. “ Teaching Grammar Without Teaching Grammar” By Vanessa Carpio Colegio San Jorge
 2. 2. What is Grammar ?

Grammar is the system of the language.

Grammar is not the rules because languages appeared as means of communication

 3. 3.

Grammar is a field of linguistics that involves all the various things that help to make up the rules of language.

Grammar, as well; refers to either the inherent structure of words and sentences (morphology and syntax respectively) in a language.

 4. 4. Is Grammar equal in all levels?

Yes, it is!!!! Because grammar will always be the same in your own language and any foreign language.

The only difference is that you pick up the level and subjects you are going to work with.

It will depend on the teacher the level their students are ready for because the grammar will always be the same

 5. 5. Is teaching grammar the hardest thing to do?

Teaching grammar has to be one of toughest tasks a teacher faces, but we all know that grammar skills are essential to students' success on standardized tests (as CPE, ECPE, among others) and college entrance exams, in their ability to communicate orally and in writing, and in life!

 6. 6. What can we do?

As teachers the first thing we have to do is like grammar. We have to make them like grammar and make it look fun. the more fun we can have with grammar, the more varied approaches we can use to teach it ,the more likely our students are to 'get it.'

 7. 7. When you teach grammar, do you focus on rules or in communicative activities

Language teachers who teach grammar by explaining the forms and rules will not work. This results in bored, disaffected students who can produce correct forms on exercises and tests, but consistently make errors when they try to use the language in context.

 8. 8.

The communicative competence model balances this extreme. The model recognizes that grammar instructions help students acquire the language more efficiently, but with communicative activities you are able to make them produce what they have been taught.

 9. 9. Does music help in teaching grammar?

Of course it does!

Songs are good listening exercises. Yet, they are, as well, excellent to work specific grammar structures.

You have to pick up the write song to teach the grammar point

e.g.: If you are working conditionals “IF” of Bread will be very useful for the success of your class.

 10. 10. Why should grammar be taught?

Grammar must be taught because it promotes better language skills. However, the most important is the application of them in the language production (writing and speaking) and also in the application of it in their comprehension of reading and listening.

 11. 11. What is the most important of teaching grammar?

The most important of teaching a language is to make the student acquire and use it. All languages have their own grammar. When you teach grammar , you teach for excellence. You teach English grammar to make students improve their English. You love it first to make them love it

WE GRAMMAR
