  • Maybe. It is way for the Pakistani army to shield themselves. As this is a attack on army's capabilities, that they were not able to pin down Osama. So, they are now diverting the real issue. The logic is becaz in pakistan army and government act on their own, i.e. army is able to take few decisions on its own without consulting government

  • Firstly it is almost impossible to believe that the pakistani establishment including army was not aware of Osama's presence in the country. He could not have remained undetected from ears and eyes of world's most technologically advanced country without local help.
    Memogate incident is perhaps just another excuse to grab power by its power hungry army.

MEMOGATE The memogate controversy (also Mullen memo controversy)revolves around a memorandum (addressed to Admiral Mike Mullen) seeking help of the Obama administration in the wake of the Osama bin Laden raid to avert a military takeover of thecivilian government in Pakistan and conversely to assistin a civilian takeover of the military apparatus. Central actors in the plot included American-Pakistani businessman Mansoor Ijaz, who alleged that former Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Husain Haqqani asked him to deliver aconfidential memo asking for US assistance. The memo is alleged to have been drafted by Haqqani at the behest of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari
