Albert Einstein
If you are intellectually honest, you must take serious arugments to heart and analyse facts and evidence, as any scientist or critically thinking person would persue, as a reference to establish an opinion on a specific problem or issue.
In what concerns intellectual honesty, respecting of others opinions, I suggest reading Jean Stuart Mill's 1869 essay 'On Liberty', link below, in which he expresses that one should always be openly ready to listen to the arguements and the evidence presented by an opposing party, while questioning his own beliefs. Equally at the same time be ready to defend his own ideas with an equal amount of zeal and evidence to persuade the adversary. If one is not ready to meet either of these conditions then why does one believe what one does?
