Disadvantages  Replacing the blocks can cause damage to the board  Considerable distance between motherboard and components may lead to delay in response  Quality of connection requires expensive pins and sockets  Limited selection of blocks to select from- taking away the appeal of open source system  Individual components are more costly than buying a complete phone 13

Challenges  Limited manufacturers  Phonebloks will always be much bulkier and heavier than regular smartphones  Currently people are not interested in buying modular phones instead they prefer smart phones present in the market  The blocks seem to have sharp edges, making it uncomfortable to hold 14
