Context Case study Key moves Context A heavily engineered infrastructure barrier on the edge of Dundee; large areas of countryside and a golf course Site extents The brief was expanded to include both the Kingsway and the village area, as both need to be tackled for either to be successful Non-negotiables Working with the public open space and landscape; the need to break down the barrier presented by the Kingsway   <ul><li>Streets and structure </li></ul><ul><li>A street pattern is created that builds on the existing roads and infrastructure </li></ul><ul><li>The new hierarchy of streets is proposed in which the primary streets relate to public transport proposals. </li></ul><ul><li>Existing green belts are enhanced, providing the golf course with a frontage to public space and improved connections </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Public open space </li></ul><ul><li>Create a new network of large public open spaces ranging from formal spaces to natural green belt </li></ul><ul><li>More formal public open space will relate directly to the neighbourhood </li></ul><ul><li>Development will define the proposed open spaces and the edge of the green belt </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Blocks and buildings </li></ul><ul><li>Identifiable development blocks will be created </li></ul><ul><li>The block structure will be easy to subdivide </li></ul><ul><li>The most important buildings will be sited at key points in relation to the urban structure and primary open spaces </li></ul>
