  2. 2. Vision<br />To support the University of Pretoria Library Services through the conversion of analogue material to digital; implement digital preservation and play an important role in the persuasion to the use of mobile technologies for library information access<br />
  3. 3. Mission<br />The “High Tech, High Touch” approach of the UP Library Services will be used to bring our vision to live with continuous staff input and training<br />

Assumptions<br />The normal part of the digitisation work (conversion of analogue material to digital) will continue; but the format of delivery may differ in future to include delivery to other electronic reader devices such as mobile technology, notepads and ebook readers<br />The use and benefits of mobile devices to access information should be promoted<br />Digital preservation and curation is part of this office’s strategy, and training to the rest of staff is needed for better understanding and implementation<br />
