  1. 1. Old Sarum hill fort, Britain Inhabited off and on since 3000 BC. Used by British Celts, Romans, and English.
  2. 2. Tara, Ireland Site contains a neolithic tomb, dating to c. 3400 BC, and an iron age/La Tene hillfort. Also the site associated with high kingship rituals.
  3. 3. Dun Ailinne, Ireland Dates from neolithic period, but used in iron age/La Tene era by kings of Leinster.
