Background Issues ● ISSUES The digital divide : – goes beyond matters of infrastructure. – reveals a deep divide in how well‐equipped different communities are to be engaged each other digitally. – In reality, the digital divide also indicates inequalities in e‐literacy levels. ● QUESTION To what extent communities can benefit locally from the use of ICT to overcome their problems and leverage their livelihood.

Background Issues ● SOLUTION Digital Inclusion : – Within this context of inequality, ‘digital inclusion’ becomes a useful concept. – A digitally inclusive society means that individuals are equipped with the necessary computer and internet skills to make them informed about the full potential of ICT in building digital economy and digital inclusion. ● Building, sustaining, and governing a digitally inclusive society requires active participation from multiple stakeholders: – government agencies, – Businesses, – academicians, and – civil society organizations. ● ACTION These stakeholders must work together and collaborate on a strategic plan to synergize educational and outreach efforts on ICTs to the Indonesian society.

Indonesia ICT Volunteers (RELAWAN TIK INDONESIA) ● The Forum output was to established ICT volunteers organisation in every provinces and cities in Indonesia to support, bridge and empower communities to a productive ICT using ● RTIK become a civil society organization that has members from various backgrounds: ICT activists, open source communities, bloggers, teachers, academics, private sector, government officers, etc On July, 4, 2011, ICT activists from different backgrounds were gathered in Forum of Coordination, Communication, and Collaboration of ICT Communities initiated by Ministry of Communication & Informatics (MCIT).
