San Jacinto College is part of national grant to train more students in supply chain management.

"The college is a part of a consortium of colleges working on a Trade Adjustment Assistance
Community College and Career Training grant program, funded through the Department of Labor.
Program goals include developing curriculum, enrolling 3,000 or more students into credit-bearing
supply chain management certificate programs at any of the consortium schools, providing
credentials for approximately 2,400 supply chain management students, placing 1,784 graduates in
jobs and providing transfers for 900 graduates into four-year universities," according to a March 25
release from the college.

ion of trade, individuals specialized in the area of supply chain management are in huge demand, yet
are hard to come by," project director Margaret Kidd said in the release.
"San Jacinto College received $559,008 of the $24.5 million TAACCCT grant to create the supply
chain management curriculum. The college also is collaborating with local partners, including
Workforce Solutions and regional Veterans Administration, and has received a letter of support from
2. the Foreign Trade Export Packing Company," according to the release.
