Social network

  1. 3. What is a social network? A  social network  is a social structure made up of individuals (or organizations) called "nodes", which are tied (connected) by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as friendship, kinship, common interest, financial exchange, dislike, sexual relationships, or relationships of beliefs, knowledge or prestige.
  2. 4. Why use a social network? Because it  is a way for one person to meet up with other people on the Net. That's not all though. Some people use social networking sites for meeting new friends on the Net. Other's use it to find old friends. Then there are those who use it to find people who have the same problems or interests they have, this is called niche networking. The question is rather rhetorical considering that practically every person in the online and offline market has at a certain point considered the advertisement via the most popular social

  6. 9. 47% of online adults use social networking sites 73% of teens and young adults are a member of at least one social network More than 1.5 million local businesses have active Pages on Facebook
  7. 10. The average user spends more than 55 minutes per day on Facebook . I nternet advertising revenues for Q1 2011 have hit a record setting $7.3 billion, which is an increase of 23% from Q1 2010. Online revenues for 2010 were $26 billion, an increase of 15% over 2009.
  8. 11. How to use a social network? The easiest way is to log into an already existing social network, battle with everyone else in there, and with the limited administrative options given to you, you can give it your best shot. Or you can …
  9. 12. <ul><li>Create you own social networking platform </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Develop as you like </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Customize as you see fit </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Organize as your needs grow </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Provide according to your business plan </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Connect to other networks </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Have the options to move freely </li></ul></ul></ul>
  10. 13. What we DO NOT offer ? Well … We will not offer you a way to create a simple page like the ones on the free social networks. We will not offer you a product with distinct limitations as well as obvious restrictions We will not offer something that you could get for free, because the free social networks can not offer you what comes next…
  11. 14. What we do offer is this: In direct comparison with the existing social networks, please make a simple assumption… If it is limited there then … we have it UNLIMITED, without restrictions, without limits. Well … it is better that you see carefully all the pages that follow, and you will notice every aspect of our platform, you probably have used most of them but as a user and never as a creator. Have a look …
  12. 15. Create an account directly … or use your existing credentials from other well known platforms
  13. 16. Same here … one way or the other
  14. 17. Your users see at the first screen different views, all depending to the theme selected or the custom work done Example A
  15. 18. Same here Example B
  16. 19. and here Example C
  17. 20. And all that before even the user has access to anything else. You can allow information to be published on the main page as well as require login for your privileged content. The choice is yours!
  18. 21. <ul><li>Once logged in your users have access to the following </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Advertising </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Listings (company/product presentations) </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Blogs </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Classifieds </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Forums </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Polls </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Groups </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Events </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Music </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Document </li></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>… (the list is endless, and can accommodate all needs) </li></ul>
  19. 22. Advertising Create your ads or allow your network users to create their own ads according to their paying subscription plan
  20. 23. Advertising Post ads everywhere you like
  21. 24. Listings Company / user presentations Probably the best way to promote a user or a company is by creating a unique presentation page (set of pages, many many pages) in order to make the announcement. Include images, text, maps comments … anything relevant in order to make the listing noticable.
  22. 25. Listings Company / user presentations This is the main Listings page Featured Top Categories Most Liked
  23. 26. Listings Company / user presentations This is the Listings Page of a hotel Photos Info Comments
  24. 27. Listings Company / user presentations Map with the location of the Hotel
  25. 28. Listings Company / user presentations Again the Hotel listing with extra info for the customers
  26. 29. Blogs The idea of having your personal blog, your company blog or even allowing your network users to have their private blog is just too much… The freedom to express ones thoughts is paramount to the success of any such social network. It is not a random fact that many people have their own blogs while at the same time follow blogs that interest them… You can have all these in your social network
  27. 30. Blogs Just create a new entry
  28. 31. Blogs Check on your older entries
  29. 32. Blogs … or add a comment on an existing entry
  30. 33. Classifieds What a better way to promote products and services that relate to your social network. Be it an entry for “staff required” or even “promo offer” of a very special product. Give your social network group users the ability to do the same. Provide to all of your customers up to date offers.
  31. 34. Classifieds Just input a new entry
  32. 35. Classifieds Just check on all your active classifieds
  33. 36. And the rest The amount of add-ons to your social network is amazing. You can create groups that share the same interests or subgroups that have in common certain aspects. (a pharmacy is a subgroup and all its customers are the users of this group, a private school is another group and all the students the users) Using groups you can divide the whole social network into smaller independent sections that coexist. You can share and inform everyone but the subgroup only to its members
  34. 37. And the rest Polls A unique way to gauge the responses of your members by introducing polls. Quick and to the point users can be diverted to the poll as soon as they log in. Your results will be immediate.
  35. 38. And the rest Events Probably one the most useful attributes of this platform. Publishing an event is by default the way to inform every single member of this network on what is to come… (be that a product, a meeting, an e-learning session, a general shareholders annual, anything you like)
  36. 39. Let’s make it personal (…ish) Let’s assume that you run a network of stores, each store has its own clients and its own geographical area of operations. Your objective, your goal in life as the manager of this network is to provide your services to your clients (store owners) and assist them to provide their services to their clients (end user)
  37. 40. Let’s make it personal (…ish) You get the picture, the list goes like that for pages… One per user YES Polls multiple / store / user NO YES Forums Limited YES Events NO YES Listings NO YES Classifieds NO YES Blogs YES YES Multiple ads / store / user One per user YES Multiple pages / store / client The others Our social network Platform
  38. 41. Let’s make it personal (…ish) And finally For everything mentioned above you CAN CHARGE for providing as services, subscription based. You can have subscription based users (stores or end users) and actually charge for different levels of services that you will provide.
  39. 42. Answers to obvious questions (a) Q. There exists facebook and a bunch of other social networks. Why use your platform? The other platforms are free. A. Apart from the obvious answer, you do not own facebook and never will, I would simple say that with this platform you can dictate the terms of engagement, simply.
  40. 43. Answers to obvious questions (b) Q. Still though there is a cost involved here. What do we stand to win? A. If you have a physical network already (schools, pharmacies etc) you stand to have these people into YOUR social network as well. Create and publish news, inform and educate. Advertise and sell advertisements. Promote your brand, brand awareness is the goal.
  41. 44. <ul><li>Answers to obvious questions (c) </li></ul><ul><li>Q. Well I am not convinced. Why use your platform instead of the others? </li></ul><ul><li>Well the best known social network is blue. Can you make it yellow? Can you have your brand name in the login page? Can you create your ads for the network ? Can you inform all user of the platform and not only your friends ? Can you sell products ? Can you … </li></ul><ul><li>Imagine being able to do all these and be the master of them as well … </li></ul>
