WHY DO PROSPECTIVE GRADUATE STUDENTS NEEDA PERSONALIZED GRADUATE TOUR? – Graduate students have different time frame and needs. – Faculty meetings (GAME CHANGER!). – Graduate Resources are not always publicized. – Prospective Graduate students appreciate someone setting up appointments for them. – Faculty appreciate students not showing up at their offices expecting a last minute appointment.
  4. 4. WHY DOYOU NEED PERSONALIZED GRADUATE TOURS? • Helps to gather data on what prospective grad students want and expect. • Creates dialogue with faculty. • Encourages use of graduate resources on campus. • Quantify why you need more staff and resources. • Helps you plan accordingly.
  5. 5. What steps are taken to coordinate a tour? Email campaigns Advertise on Website Coordinate with Welcome Center Possible dates/times from student Contact faculty member(s) to check availability. Contact graduate resource offices for availability Create tentative agenda Approve agenda with student, faculty and graduate resource offices Finalize details with student

TAMU-CC GRADUATE CAMPUS TOUR FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 2019 KARLA GARZA COUNSELING-CLINICAL MENTAL HEALTH 10:00 a.m. Check in at Islander Welcome Center (#23 on Campus Map) 10:05 a.m. Meeting with Dr. Michelle Hollenbaugh, Associate Professor, Professional Counseling Program Coordinator, College of Education and Human Development, ECDC Rm. 151 10:45 a.m. G.R.O.W (Graduate Resource and Opportunity Workspace) 11:00 a.m. College of Graduate Studies, Faculty Center 11:15 a.m. Center for Academic Student Achievement (CASA) Writing Lab 11:30 a.m. Career Services-University Center 12:00 p.m. Tour ends at Islander Welcome Center Housing –Walk-in Tour (Optional)
  7. 7. OUTCOMES April 2018-May 2019 - 24 tours were conducted during Fall 2018 Spring 2019- Information available after 20th class day, September 2019 50% above goal increase in enrollment. Better relationship with colleges and faculty.
  8. 8. WHATSTILL NEEDS WORK? FACULTY-SOME ARE STILL NOT ON BOARD SCHOLARSHIPS NOT AVAILABLE PROGRAMS REQUIRING GRADUATE ADVISOR
  9. 9. WHAT’S NEXT? • Graduate Admissions Representative starts July 2019 • Graduate Assistant will start Fall 2019 • Assigned budget for giveaways, travel and programming. • Increase Social Media presence
