Cross border Investments Private Ltd. Operates in 106 cities via 211 offices. Caters to 4,50,000 clients. Clients include mass retail , mass affluent , HNI , corporations, domestic and foreign institutional investors.

  9. 9.  Research design is descriptive.  Sample size – 100  Sampling units – Existing and prospective clients of Edelweiss.  Sampling Technique – Structured questionnaire and personal interview.  Sampling Area - Delhi , NCR and Gurgaon.
  10. 10.  Questionnaire was framed to collect information on :  Demographic variables  Level of savings  Objective of savings  Objective of investment  Preferable instrument  Monitoring period  Risk level
  11. 11.  Percentage of women investors was quite less in comparison to male.  40 % of the respondents fell in the Age Group “35-45.”  Income distribution was heavily towards category “Rs 30000-40000”.  Savings of the respondents was quite good, majority of respondents saving “Rs 10000-20000”.
  12. 12.  Meeting monthly expenditure was the vital objective of the respondent’s savings.  The main motive behind the respondent’s investment was Liquidity.  48% of the respondents were induced by the liquidity factor.  Respondents generally invest to make a source for regular income accumulated funds. and growth on their
  13. 13.  Majority of respondents preferred Government bonds for their investment.  Respondents prefer PPF for their saving’s. They monitor and review their investment annually.  63% of the respondents are not comfortable with high or medium level of risk.  Respondents generally surf the internet or take advice from their family/ friends
  14. 14.  Through the analysis of the consumer buying behavior with respect to investment instruments, it can be concluded that:  Respondents save about 20-25% of their savings with respect to their income.  Invest to maintain medium – high level of liquidity.  Plan to meet their short term financial needs through their savings.
  15. 15.  Plan to meet their long term financial needs through their investments.  Generally invest in Government Securities safe, predictable and less risky in comparison with other investment options.
