PDS Cluster Aims  Increase numbers of trainee placements in science e.g. by supporting schools offering paired placements.  To develop a training package linked to developing and managing multiple trainee placements.  Develop a training package to train host teachers and develop existing mentors  Produce science based exemplification of the standards to support mentors and trainees.

  6. 6. Developing a Collaborative Placement Strategy  Identify the models for working with Pairs of trainees  Trial models of working  Produce materials to support the development of mentors and the preparation of trainees for working in pairs

Improving the quality of mentoring  A series of CPD materials produced to support the training of host teachers and developing existing mentors  Materials based around ‘Doing ITT’ materials previously published by TDA.  CPD materials trialled and then disseminated to outreach schools through training events
  9. 9. Evidencing the Standards  Science mentors worked collaboratively to draw up a list of exemplifications for each standard  The exemplifications were trialled by mentors  Final draft used to publish a guide for use by mentors
