Designing a symbolic kinetic sculpture for The Advanced Institute of Convergence.
This piece will be installed at the main entrance in a high-ceiling hall way.

Currently, we looked up two types: Metal and glass.
Both materials are sparkle when they move, which creates an optical illusion.

Hoist is a system lifting heavy materials over 1 ton.
We will use its system to move each panel to the four directions as planned.
Maxon Motor
high precision swiss motor / high performance with low noise
high trust - long life time (lasts over 30,000 hrs)
precision control - one of the labs (in the institute) owns this original technology.
maintenance notes
Outer frame holding each panel will be installed at the ceiling.
Hoists will be mounted at the outer frame and lift the panels up and down.
total panels :  50
total motors : 50 rails, 50 mounted structures, 4~5 hoists mounted on the outer frame
about 100 motors will be used simultaneously
