  3. 3. Today and Tomorrow <ul><li>Granbury ISD is dedicated to providing our students with a 21 st century education where modern technology is an intricate part of the curriculum </li></ul>
  4. 4. Our Plan <ul><li>The use of technology has become an indispensable component in the classroom. </li></ul><ul><li>Our original plan developed in 1998 provided the network infrastructure and instructional computers </li></ul><ul><li>Our current plan will enhance the role of technology in curriculum design and delivery, provide a higher level of staff development </li></ul>

E-Rate <ul><li>Providing all of this technology is very expensive. </li></ul><ul><li>The Schools and Libraries Program of the Universal Service Fund, E-Rate, provides discounts to schools and libraries to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access. </li></ul><ul><li>41% of Granbury’s students are economically disadvantaged, therefore we qualify for an E-Rate discount of 60%. </li></ul><ul><li>To qualify for E-Rate, GISD developed a technology plan GISD Technology Plan </li></ul>

The plan includes: <ul><li>Goals for using telecommunications and information technology </li></ul><ul><li>A strategy for professional development </li></ul><ul><li>An assessment of telecommunication services, hardware, software, and other needed services </li></ul><ul><li>Budget resources </li></ul><ul><li>Ongoing evaluation process which includes the STaR Chart </li></ul>
