  3. 3. Fruits and Vegetables <ul><li>Fruits and vegetables are very important for our bodies </li></ul><ul><li>We need 3-5 servings of vegetables </li></ul><ul><li>We need 2-4 servings of fruits </li></ul>
  4. 4. Milk and Dairy <ul><li>Dairy is anything made with milk including milk </li></ul><ul><li>(yogurt, cheese, and even ice cream) </li></ul><ul><li>It is recommended to have 3 servings a day for young people </li></ul>
  5. 5. Meat/Protein <ul><li>Protein is found in meat, beans, eggs, and many other places </li></ul><ul><li>We need to have 2-3 servings every day </li></ul>
  6. 6. Bread/Grains <ul><li>The bread and grain food group includes bread, pasta, cereal, and grains. </li></ul><ul><li>We need to eat more servings from this group than any other 6-11. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Fats and Sweets <ul><li>This is the unhealthy food group. </li></ul><ul><li>We can call this category junk food. </li></ul><ul><li>You should not eat very many of these items. Try to eat something healthier like fruit for sweets. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Pyramid Quiz <ul><li>What foods belong in the dairy group? </li></ul><ul><li>How many servings of fruits do we need a day? </li></ul><ul><li>What food group do we need the most servings a day from? </li></ul>
