GUIDELINES FOR WRITING AN INTERNSHIP REPORT
I. General information
An internship report is aimed to provide a personal reflection of the training
period an intern has undergone at a workplace, organization or institution.
Submission of the internship report is obligatory for the partial fulfillment at
Faculty of Foreign Languages at Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
Students are expected to make necessary arrangements for an internship
themselves. However, if they have difficulty in finding a place for an internship
period, assistance may be provided.
II. Outline of the Internship Report
1. Cover/Title page (required)
(cover and sub-cover: download)
2. Acknowledgement (required)
3. Table of contents (required)
4. List of tables (if any)
5. List of abbreviations (if any)
6. Report content (required)
7. References (sources from books, articles, websites) (if any)
Recommended referencing system: APA (American Psychological
Association)
8. Appendices(required)
Supporting data for the text body in the form of one or more appendices, such
as data sheets, questionnaire samples, illustrations, maps, charts, photos taken,
authentic materials, evidence of products performed, comments by
organization, etc.
9. Reports on activities of 8 internship weeks (internship diaries)

Part 1. Description of internship

2. Internship Process
2.1. Description of internship position
In this part, you should describe your job title, days of work, working time
Remember that your position MUST be directly RELATED to your field
of study!
2.2. Description of Daily activities
In this part, you should describe specific tasks and responsibilitiesthat you were
assigned to complete in details.
Part 2. Analysis and evaluation
- A descriptive and informative explanation of specific skillsyou have gained
during the internship
- Analyze your performanceduring the internship: What were good and bad
results? What experience have you gained? What do you need to adjust/improve
yourself?...
IV. Mechanics
Layout guidelines:
Limited words: 1500 words (Analysis and evaluation)
Font: Times New Roman (12 points)
Typing: on one side of A4 paper only; line spacing: 1.5 lines
Left margin: 3.5 cm; other margins: 2.5 cm
Pagination (starting on the first text page): continuous and centered
Justification of the right margin of the text; indention of each paragraph: five
spaces
V. Deadlines and Submission
Both hard and soft copies are required upon submission of the internship
report.
