This Application Note will describe the available models and various modes both standard and optional
that are available for the 860 DSP and 860 DSPi Multifunction Cable Analyzers.
860 DSP & 860 DSPi Base Models
Trilithic offers the following base 860 DSP and 860 DSPi configurations;
• 860 DSP (P/N 201097001F)
• 860 DSPi with US DOCSIS 3.0 Modem (P/N 201097200U)
• 860 DSPi with EURO DOCSIS 3.0 Modem (P/N 201097210U)

Each mode of the 860 DSP and 860 DSPi can be accessed by selecting the corresponding icon as
shown in the following table. Some modes may be inaccessible based on the options that have been
installed on the instrument. Optional modes for the 860 DSP and 860 DSPi are indicated by an option
code that is described in detail in the Software & Hardware Options for the 860 DSP & 860 DSPi table in
the following section.

How Do I Determine Which Options I Have
To determine the options that you have installed on your device you must;

1. Access the SETUP Menu from any NAVIGATION Menu by pressing the softkey.

Protocol Reflector a simple round-trip VoIP quality test from any RF test point. The option

Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP) is used to transmit IPTV, Video-on-
Demand (VoD), VoIP and other real-time media over IP networks.
Tektronix’ RTP Loopback test agent accurately simulates these media
streams by supporting over 50 different audio and video codecs,
including the latest wideband VoIP, HDTV & IPTV standards.
The RTP Reflector Option enables round-trip stream analysis for packet
loss, jitter, delay and other IP impairments. R-factor, MOS and other
industry-standard service quality metrics are included based on a
Tektronix E-model implementation.

compatibility allowing connection to the Internet through an external cable modem and enabling the High
