5 Keys to Generating Leads from Your Website

  2. 2. Before you can generate leads from your website, you must know your audience.
  3. 3. When you understand their language, you can speak to them in a way that makes sense to them.
  4. 4. The more you understand their specific pains, problems and desires, the more you can communicate with them and show that you ‘get’ them.
  5. 5. Key #2: Have a Compelling Headline
  6. 6. Once you’ve clearly defined your audience, you need to create a headline on your website that captures their attention and makes them feel as though you are speaking directly to them.
  7. 7. The importance of this cannot be understated.
  8. 8. You have very little time to engage your audience before they become distracted and move on to something else.
  9. 9. Key #3: Offer Something Valuable
  10. 10. In order to establish knowledge & authority, provide information that is valuable to your audience.
  11. 11. Information is everywhere, but if you provide what you know from your experience is the most crucial information, and package it in such a way that the information is presented in a compelling and well-organized manner, it will be of value to your audience.
  12. 12. Good choices for the types of products you could create include free ebooks, reports, white papers, videos and webinars. (This free report is one example.)
  13. 13. Key #4: Capture Leads
  14. 14. There is no point in generating leads on your website if you’re not going to follow up with them. Some people may become a client the first time they visit your site, but most are not yet ready to purchase your product or service.
  15. 15. When you capture them as a lead (by providing something of value, as discussed in Key #3), you can keep in touch with them and develop a relationship where they know and trust you.
