Frequently Asked Questions | Recruitment

  1. 1. FAQs | Recruitment travelcounsellors
  2. 2. Is there anything that I can offer my customers as a Travel Counsellor which sets me apart? Yes – Travel Counsellors operates a unique Financial Trust. It means that your customers are always 100% protected against any and all operator failure – with no exceptions. There are so many different regulations out there, so to be able to tell your customer that they’ll always be cov- ered under any circumstances is peace of mind only you can offer.
  3. 3. Can I choose my own hours? It’s your business, so you’re the boss. Just make sure that you’re devoting enough time to developing your business and nurturing your customer base. If you’re working one hour a day and expecting incredible rewards, you might be disappointed – it’s no coincidence that our most suc- cessful Travel Counsellors are also our hardest working!
  4. 4. Do I have to be home-based? The vast majority of our Travel Counsellors work from home – but if you’d prefer, you’re welcome to rent a non-retail office. But our stats show that you’ll be happier and more successful working from the comfort of your own home!
  5. 5. I’ve heard home working can be lonely. Is there any support available? There are over 1,350 Travel Counsellors working around the clock, around the world – so you’ll always find that there’s someone to talk to if you fancy a chat! But we’re not just about webcams, messageboards and TCTV broadcasts. You’ll have plenty of ways to meet with your friends and colleagues face to face, with our anniversary days, training days and our prestigious Annual Confer- ence. As a member of the TC family, we promise you’ll never feel alone. If you would like support at any time, our friendly and helpful Business Development team are only ever a phone call away.
  6. 6. What experience do I need? Whatever your background, there’s a route to becoming a Travel Counsellor for you. Ideally we’d ask for a minimum of 4 years of recent experience in travel sales – but even if you have no experience, and plenty of passion for travel and customer service, our Travel Academy could be per- fect for you!
