  • The real inconvenient truth is that if you want to cut your carbon footprint in half without changing your lifestyle...just have one child to help reduce our impact on the world.

You will not that when Mr. Gore shows a slide of exponential carbon emissions growth, that is the exact same curve that world population graphs show...

The true root cause of consumption is consumers and if we dont address the root cause in a frank open way we are just delaying the ineffitable.

Global Warming

  1. 1. GLOBAL WARMING or GLOBAL COOLING? Dr. Jobe Martin Biblical Discipleship Ministries www.biblicaldiscipleship.orgwww.biblicaldiscipleship.org www.evolutionofacreationist.comwww.evolutionofacreationist.com
  2. 2. TIMETIME MAGAZINE APRIL 3, 2006MAGAZINE APRIL 3, 2006 TimeTime: • The image of Earth as organism—famously dubbed Gaia by environmentalist James Lovelock—has probably been overworked, but that’s not to say the planet can't behave like a living thing, and these days, it's a living thing fighting a fever.
  3. 3. ““Earth has a fever!”Earth has a fever!” Al Gore to the United States Senate March 21, 2007
  4. 4. 2 PETER 3:102 PETER 3:10 1010 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief inBut the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall passthe night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elementsaway with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, shall melt with fervent heat, the earth alsothe earth also and the works that are therein shall beand the works that are therein shall be burned upburned up..
  5. 5. GLOBAL WARMING?GLOBAL WARMING? IS AL GORE RIGHT?IS AL GORE RIGHT? If we take the Bible literally, earth will get so hotIf we take the Bible literally, earth will get so hot that it will all burn up,that it will all burn up, BUT,BUT, that is at the very least 1007 years from todaythat is at the very least 1007 years from today [more later]![more later]! So Al Gore is a bit right, but his timing is more thanSo Al Gore is a bit right, but his timing is more than 1000 years off,1000 years off, andand it will not be a gradualit will not be a gradual process, IT WILL BE A FLASH.process, IT WILL BE A FLASH.
  6. 6. • Al Gore assumes a poorly designed earth which responds to changes by making them worse; when there is much true science that supports the idea that earth has many built in corrective responses, especially in relationship to our sun and seas, which no effort of man can alter or improve.
  7. 7. October 14, 2007 • ONE of the world's foremost meteorologists has called the theory that helped Al Gore share the Nobel Peace Prize "ridiculous" and the product of "people who don't understand how the atmosphere works“. • Dr William Gray, a pioneer in the science of seasonal hurricane forecasts told a packed lecture hall at the University of North Carolina that humans were not responsible for the warming of the earth.
  8. 8. October 14, 2007 • Dr. Gray’s comments came on the same day that the Nobel committee honored Mr. Gore for his work in advertising and promoting the hypothesis that there is a link between human activity and global warming. • "We're brainwashing our children," said Dr Gray, 78, a long-time professor at Colorado State University. • "They're going to the Gore movie [An Inconvenient Truth] and being fed all this. It's ridiculous."
  9. 9. October 14, 2007 • "The human impact on the atmosphere is simply too small to have a major effect on global temperatures,” Dr. Gray said. • He said his beliefs had made him an outsider inHe said his beliefs had made him an outsider in popular science.popular science. • "It bothers me that my fellow scientists are not speaking out against something they know is wrong," he said. "But they also know that they'd never get any grants if they spoke out. I don't care about grants."
  10. 10. August 2007August 2007 • ““You wouldn’t know it from Al Gore’sYou wouldn’t know it from Al Gore’s AnAn Inconvenient Truth,Inconvenient Truth, but there are many upsides tobut there are many upsides to global warming:…”global warming:…” says Dr. Fred Singer, Professor Emeritus of Environmental Studies, University of Virginia, (Imprimis, Aug. 2007, p.1). Also: Distinguished research professor at George Mason University, president of the Science and Environmental Policy Project; Ph.D. in Physics from Princeton University; founding dean of the School of Environmental and Planetary Sciences at University of Miami; founding director of the U.S. National Weather Satellite Service; past vice-chairman of the U.S. National Advisory Committee on Oceans and Atmosphere.
  11. 11. • Dr. Fred Singer is one of the most qualified environmental scientists in the world, and he is not at all concerned with the present liberal and celebrity faddishness that we are about to be destroyed by human-generatedhuman-generated global warming. • Dr. Singer says: “In the past few years there has been increasing concern about global climate change on the part of the media, politicians, and the public. It has been stimulated by the idea that human activities may influence global climate adversely and
  12. 12. • that therefore corrective action is required on the part of governments. Recent evidence suggests that this concern is misplaced. Human activities are not influencing the global climate in perceptible ways. Climate will continue to change, as it always has in the past, warming and cooling on different time scales and for different reasons, regardless of human action. I would also argue that—should it occur—a modest warming would be on the whole beneficial. •WHAT….?WHAT….?
  13. 13. FRED SINGER BS (Ohio State), MS,FRED SINGER BS (Ohio State), MS, PhD (Princeton) continues:PhD (Princeton) continues: • “This is not to say that we don’t face a serious problem. But the problem is political [Is Al Gore a lifetime politician or a credentialed PhD scientist?]. • Because of the mistaken idea that governments can and must do something about climate, pressures are building that have the potential of distorting energy policies in a way that will severely damage national economies, decrease standards of living, and increase poverty. This misdirection of resources will adversely affect human health and welfare in
  14. 14. in industrialized nations, and even more in developing nations. Thus it could well lead to increased social tensions within nations and conflict between them. If not for this economic and political damage, one might consider the present concern about climate change nothing more than just another environmentalist fad, like the Alar apple scare or the global cooling fears of the 1970s. Given that so much is at stake, however, it is essential that people better understand the issue. Dr. Fred Singer, “GlobalDr. Fred Singer, “Global Warming: Man-Made or Natural”Warming: Man-Made or Natural” ImprimisImprimis Volume 36Volume 36 Number 8,Number 8, August 2007August 2007, p. 1, p. 1
  15. 15. http://www.hillsdale.edu/news/imprimis.asp • “But in seeking to understand recent warming, we also have to consider the natural factors that have regularly warmed the climate prior to the industrial revolution and, indeed, prior to any human presence on the earth. After all, the geological record shows a persistent 1,500-year cycle of warming and cooling extending back at least one million years” (Dr. Fred Singer) [The 1500 year cycles are evident—but only for about 6000 years: depending on your worldview.]
  16. 16. Dr.Dr. Timothy PattersonTimothy Patterson is professor and director of theis professor and director of the OttawaOttawa--CarletonCarleton Geoscience Centre, Department ofGeoscience Centre, Department of Earth Sciences,Earth Sciences, Carleton UniversityCarleton University • The mud at the bottom of B.C. fjords reveals that solar output drives climate change - and that we should prepare now for dangerous global cooling • R. TIMOTHY PATTERSON, Financial Post • Published: Wednesday, June 20, 2007June 20, 2007
  17. 17. Dr. Patterson continues: • In some fields the science is indeed "settled." For example, plate tectonics, once highly controversial, is now so well-established that we rarely see papers on the subject at all. But the science of global climate change is still in its infancy, with many thousands of papers published every year.
  18. 18. • In a 2003 poll conducted by German environmental researchers Dennis Bray and Hans von Storch, two- thirds of more than 530 climate scientists from 27 countries surveyed did not believe that "the current state of scientific knowledge is developed well enough to allow for a reasonable assessment of the effects of greenhouse gases." About half of those polled stated that the science of climate change was not sufficiently settled to pass the issue over to policymakers at all.
  19. 19. • “Solar scientists predict that, by 2020, the sun will be starting into its weakest Schwabe solar cycle of the past two centuries, likely leading to unusually cool conditions on Earth.” R. Timothy Patterson, Ph.D.
  20. 20. • “Beginning to plan for adaptation to such a cool period, one which may continue well beyond one 11-year cycle, as did the Little Ice Age, should be a priority for governments. It is global cooling, not warming, that is the major climate threat to the world, especially Canada. As a country at the northern limit to agriculture in the world, it would take very little cooling to destroy much of our food crops, while a warming would only require that we adopt farming techniques practiced to the south of us.”
  21. 21. R. Timothy Patterson concludes: • “Meantime, we need to continue research into this, the most complex field of science ever tackled, and immediately halt wasted expenditures on the King Canute-like task of "stopping climate change."
  22. 22. • Dr. Tim Patterson is Professor of Geology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He received both a B.Sc. in Biology (1980) and a B.A. in Geology (1983) from Dalhousie University, Halifax, N.S. and a Ph.D. in Geology from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1986. After brief stints at the University of Southern California and University of California at Berkeley he joined Carleton University in 1988 as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Full Professor in 1999. • He is Canadian leader of the International Geological Correlation Program Project IGCP 495 "Quaternary Land-Ocean interactions" and is Principal Investigator of a Canadian Foundation For Climate and Atmospheric Sciences project studying high-resolution Holocene climate records from anoxic fjords and coast lakes in British Columbia.
  23. 23. February 25, 2007February 25, 2007 • “The endless hysteria and alarmism over alleged global warming has increasingly become a national and international nuisance and loses credibility with every passing day. The entire myth has little to do with science and much to do with politics.” • www.trbc.org. The link is titled: “A SKEPTIC’S GUIDE TO DEBUNKING GLOBAL WARMING ALARMISM”.
  24. 24. National GeographicNational Geographic November 1976November 1976 “What’s happening to our climate?” p.581“What’s happening to our climate?” p.581 • “From 1880 to about 1940 the world— particularly the Northern Hemisphere—went through a period of significant warming….but since about 1940, there has been a distinct drop in average global temperature. It’s fallen about ½ a degree Fahrenheit—even more in high latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere.” • Dr. J. Murray Mitchell, Jr., National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
  25. 25. • “During the last 20 to 30 years, world temperature has fallen, irregularly at first but more sharply over the last decade.” • U.S. National Science Board, 1974, as quoted in National Geographic Nov. 1976Nov. 1976, p. 581.
  26. 26. • “England’s annual growing season shrank by 9 or10 days between 1950 and 1966, Hubert Lamb has noted (Britain’s University of East Anglia). In the northern tier of the U.S. Midwest, summer frosts again occasionally damage crops. • Sea Ice has again returned to Iceland’s coast after more than 40 years of virtual absence. Glaciers in Alaska and Scandinavia have slowed their recession; some in Switzerland have begun advancing again. National Geographic, p. 281. • Earth’s spinning motion steers…an ever-changing weather system.”
  27. 27. NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES,NATIONAL ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, 19751975 • The climates of the earth have always been changing, and they will doubtless continue to do so in the future. How large these future changes will be, and where and how rapidly they will occur we do not know.
  28. 28. The Age, April 7, 2003April 7, 2003 “Research casts doubt on global warming” • “Claims that man-made pollution has caused unprecedented warming have been undermined by research that shows the earth was warmer in the Middle Ages” (800-1300 A.D.) • “The review by a Harvard University team…proves that the world had a medieval warm period between the 9th and 14th centuries with world temperatures significantly higher than today.”
  29. 29. • The hottest temperatures recorded in the U.S.A. were in the 1930’s peaking in 1934 and were hotter than the “global warming mantra” of Gore and the “Greens” that 1998 and following have been the hottest on record.
  30. 30. Al Gore, and hisAl Gore, and his environmentalistenvironmentalist friends have told usfriends have told us only one side of theonly one side of the story!story!
  31. 31. A CASE IN POINT: • Al Gore likes to point out that the Upsala glacier of Patagonia is retreating. • But “Just fifty kilometers away from Upsala is Moreno, which is growing, and thereby calving. Claims of Moreno’s retreat are typically danced around without brazenly lying about it “melting,” and are pure fabrication and illustrative of the lengths to which environmentalists go to dishonestly frighten people.” Christopher Horner, The Politically Incorrect Guide to Global Warming and Environmentalism, D.C.:Regenery Pubs., 20072007, P. 223.
  32. 32. • Horner continues: Other much larger glaciers nearby are advancing without the pleasure of angst-ridden eco-tourists and pencil-gnawing journalists. In fact, “While in the same region in Patagonia, either in the Argentinean or Chilean sides, there are small glaciers on retreat, there are other medium sized glaciers in stable condition, and really big glaciers growing at record speed and volume.” [http://mitosyfraudes.8k.com/Ingles3/UpsalaEng.html.] • For example, South America’s largest glacier, Pio XI, is growing very quickly. The greens and media just missed it, that’s all, another case of not seeing the forest for being busy hugging trees. (Horner, p.
  33. 33. ““Everyone complains about the weather,Everyone complains about the weather, but no one does anything about it.”but no one does anything about it.” Mark Twain, in what used to be a joke and now passes for policy analysis. Christopher Horner, p. 58

  36. 36. ON THIS EARLY EARTH: • It did not rainIt did not rain, “…for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth,… 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.” (Genesis 2:5-6) • Man and animal ate vegetationMan and animal ate vegetation (Genesis 1:29, 30).(Genesis 1:29, 30). • There were mild seasonsThere were mild seasons (Genesis 1:14)(Genesis 1:14) • There was probably one land mass with 4 riversThere was probably one land mass with 4 rivers flowing out of the one riverflowing out of the one river (Genesis 2:10-15).(Genesis 2:10-15). • The earth was pole to pole greenhouse warmThe earth was pole to pole greenhouse warm (giant(giant trees and palm tree fossils in Alaska, broad leaftrees and palm tree fossils in Alaska, broad leaf ferns in the Antarctica, warm temp animals frozenferns in the Antarctica, warm temp animals frozen solid in New Siberian Islands, but today willows 1”).solid in New Siberian Islands, but today willows 1”).
  37. 37. THE FIRST ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER • Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit (The Fall) and the earth and everything in it was cursed. • …cursedcursed isis the groundthe ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; 18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. Gen. 3:17b-19
  38. 38. 1st Ecological disaster = The Fall 2nd Eco disaster = The Global Flood • 11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. • 13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth (Gen. 6:11-13). • 12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights (Gen. 7:12). THE FIRST RAIN!THE FIRST RAIN!
  39. 39. THE FIRST MIGHTY WINDTHE FIRST MIGHTY WIND • 1 And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a windGod made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; 2 The fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained; 3 And the waters returned from off the earth continually: and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters were abated (Genesis 8:1-3).
  40. 40. THE FIRST MENTION OFTHE FIRST MENTION OF COLD WINTERCOLD WINTER • 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease (Genesis 8:21-22). • No longer mild seasons, but heat and cold = • FIRST RECORDED GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGEFIRST RECORDED GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE • No longer harvest any time all year long. • Earth now a harsher place to live • After the Flood: meat eating now approved by God for man and animals (see Genesis 9:1-5).
  41. 41. THE FIRST MENTION OF ICE AND SNOWTHE FIRST MENTION OF ICE AND SNOW • 14 To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty. 15 My brethren have dealt deceitfully as a brook, and as the stream of brooks they pass away; 16 Which are blackish by reason of the iceice, and wherein the snowsnow is hid: 17 What time they wax warm, they vanish: when it is hot, they are consumed out of their place. Job 6:14-17
  42. 42. • Ice and snow and hail and frost had a beginning after the flood(Job 38:29) “29 Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?” • Ice and snow are kept in “storehouses” which are probably the polar ice caps (Job 38:22) “22 Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail?” (treasures, treasuries, storehouses)
  43. 43. 11STST RECORDED MAJOR DROUGHTRECORDED MAJOR DROUGHT An Environmental DisasterAn Environmental Disaster • 10 And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land (Genesis 12:10). • The drought was so intense and prolonged that Abraham was forced to move his family to Egypt to find food and water.
  44. 44. Earlier I mentioned that at least 1007Earlier I mentioned that at least 1007 years are left to earth history beforeyears are left to earth history before God burns it all up. How can such aGod burns it all up. How can such a statement be made?statement be made?
  45. 45. Starting today more than 1000 yearsStarting today more than 1000 years remain in earth history!remain in earth history! • The Premillennial Escatological theological position believes that the Creator Himself, the Lord Jesus Christ, (see in the Bible John 1; Colossians 1; Hebrews 1) will leave His throne in heaven to come to rule on earth from Jerusalem in the last days before He destroys earth and all it contains by fire. While He reigns the curse will be removed and the earth will bring forth its increase as not seen since the days of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

  60. 60. • Guess who the environmentalists exempted from Kyoto? Two most environmentally unfriendly nations in the world: China and India. So this “warming” crowd is not really about warming at all. 63. 63. Horner continues:Horner continues: Today’s “environmentalist” comes in many varieties, from ill-shaven undergrads to wealthy elites, with myriad motivators driving this activism. The modern environmentalist’s motivation is generally not a love of biological diversity or horticulture, not a desire to expand animal habitats and so on—though these advocates certainly do exist, in obscurity. Instead, today’s environmentalist is generally “anti-” something, and that something is typically related

  72. 72. A little perspective… • “Meteorologists disagree about the cause and extent of the trend, as well as over its specific impact on local weather conditions. But they are almost unanimous in the view that the trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century. If the climatic change is as profound as some of the pessimists fear, the resulting famines could be catastrophic.1 ” • “Climatologists are pessimistic that political leaders will take any positive action to compensate for the climatic change, or even to allay its effects.1 ” • “The longer the planners delay, the more difficult will they find it to cope with climatic change once the results become grim reality.1 ”

  74. 74. Junk Science • Junk science? www.junkscience.com • "Junk science" is faulty scientific data and analysis used to advance special and, often, hidden agendas. The junk science "mob" includes [the following samples]: • MEDIA - sensational headlines and programming • PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS - bamboozle juries into awarding huge verdicts • SOCIAL ACTIVISTS - achieve social and political change. • GOVERNMENT REGULATORS - expand their authority to increase their budgets. • POLITICIANS - curry favor with special interest groups or to be "politically correct."

Al Gore whipped the world into a global warming frenzy with his doomsday documentary, “An Inconvenient Truth.” 3 - What Hurricane Season? The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s prediction for the 2006 hurricane season was about as wrong as wrong can be.
  76. 76. • Global warming alarmism is the bread and butter of a host of special interests. The perception that global warming is something to be “very worried” about is the sine qua non of billions of dollars in annual government contracts to researchers and universities, and millions of dollars in annual direct mail contributions to eco-activist groups. Insurance companies like Swiss Re profit from spreading alarm, because it gives them a convenient pretext to raise the premiums they charge to cover weather-related damages. “News” magazines like Time profit from spreading alarm, because scary stories and scarier covers sell copy.
  77. 77. AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH: • “Admittedly the weather is warming; some scientists tell us it has increased 0.7 or 0.8 degrees during the last one hundred years, hardly enough to raise the ocean levels one inch worldwide—a far cry from the outrageously dogmatic twenty inches Al Gore is predicting in his scientifically flawed movie that is being shown all over America to our innocent school children. The reason is simple: the public schools are controlled by leftists— “worldly wisdom” teachers with an agenda.” Tim LeHaye
  78. 78. FOR YOUR INFORMATION: March 21,’07 Al Gore testified before the US Senate • Under the normal rules, a witness's statement before a congressional committee is limited to 15 minutes, and a written version must be submitted at least 48 hours before the hearing. Gore demanded 30 minutes and was given it, requested permission to submit his written testimony only 24 hours before the hearing and was granted it, and then failed to meet that deadline. His written testimony did not reach the Democrat staff members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee until about 1 a.m. Wednesday, just 9 hours before the hearing--and Republican staff did not receive their copies until 7 a.m., six hours later than the Democrats and just 3 hours before the hearing. Committee members and their staffs normally review written statements in advance in order to prepare for questioning.
  79. 79. • Media reports showcased Gore's testimony. Citizens who depended on the media would have had a difficult time detecting a very inconvenient truth for Gore: His oral testimony, though filled with claims of impending catastrophe and recommendations for responses the benefits of which he boasted would outweigh the costs, was woefully short on specific details of scientific and economic data, documentation, and argumentation. “His written testimony (http://energycommerce.house.gov/cmte_mtgs/110- eaq-hrg.032107.Gore-testimony.pdf), a mere three pages, reads, to put it bluntly, as if written by a precocious sixth-grade student no more familiar with the issue than if he'd read a few hundred headlines in the popular media.” E. Calvin Beisner
  80. 80. • In contrast, Dr. Lomborg's written testimony (http://energycommerce.house.gov/cmte_mtgs/11 0-eaq-hrg.032107.Lomborg-testimony.pdf) is a masterpiece of well-informed scholarship. Twenty- three pages long, including four pages of references to technical sources, it is filled with hard data, documentation to authoritative sources, and clear and cogent argumentation. Lomborg's testimony explicitly and convincingly proves many of Gore's most important and frightening claims to be false and indeed irresponsible. His written testimony reads, to put it bluntly, as if written by a Ph.D.'d specialist in the field (which he is) who diligently dug beneath headlines to solid information.
  81. 81. • While we at the Interfaith Stewardship Alliance [E. Calvin Beisner] do not agree that current warming is mostly manmade (for reasons, see the "Call to Truth," at http://www.interfaithstewardship.org/pdf/Cal ltoTruth.pdf, and "Important Developments on Global Warming in 2006," at http://www.interfaithstewardship.org/pdf/ GlobalWarmingSummary2006.pdf), we wholeheartedly agree that taking Gore's advice will cost millions of lives.
  82. 82. • It will force the world's poorest people to continue for decades or generations using wood and dried dung as their primary heating and cooking fuels, causing indoor air pollution that kills nearly 2 million every year. It will slow their economic development and hence their ability to leave behind the contaminated drinking water and untreated sewage that kill another 2 million or more every year. It will delay their ability to afford measures to overcome hunger, malnutrition, and infectious diseases, together costing more millions of lives each year.

It’s a radical departure from prevailing popular belief, and a theory that Svensmark and Calder argue for eloquently and persuasively in this new landmark book. • • A Compelling Theory Backed by Intensive Research •
  85. 85. • Wayne Grudem says Gore’s environmental push runs contrary to what the Bible says about man’s relationship to creation -– he is told to rule over it in Genesis 1:28 -– as well as what the Bible says about the wisdom of God in Proverbs 3:19-20: “19 The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth; by understanding hath he established the heavens. 20 By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.” “I find it highly doubtful that the Lord would set the earth up in such a way that we would destroy it by obeying His command,” Grudem said. “And yet, that’s exactly what the alarmists would have us think.”
  86. 86. • Our weather super-cycles are quite normal and are in reality due to cyclical changes in tilt of the earth's rotational axis and path of revolution around the sun (do a Google search on "Milankovitch cycles"). We are not going to move the earth's axis or rotational path by changing to a different type of light bulb. The notion that we can is nothing more than Satan's idea "I will be like the most high" (Isa 14:14). • David Bueche, (personal e-mail)
  87. 87. • So the real issue in the global warming battle is—who is in control! • Is the God of all creation in control or is man in control? • Do we worship “Goddess Mother Earth” (The Gaia Principle-Hypothesis) or do we worship God Almighty of the Bible?
  88. 88. • It appears that Al Gore, the leading evangelist of the global warming propaganda machine worships “mother earth.” • He says (Earth in the BalanceEarth in the Balance, p. 260): “Europe and much of the world was based on the worship of a single earth goddess, who was assumed to be the fount of all life….The last vestige of organized goddess worship was eliminated by Christianity….” • Christians are the bad guys (see p. 260-264)

  92. 92. • Moreover, the "global warming" over which the liberals are so terrified are normal weather super-cycles: Gen 8:21, 22 - As long as the earth remains, God will not curse the world any more for man's sake, nor destroy all living things (i.e., not only by flood, but by any means). Normal cycles (seedtime & harvest, summer & winter, HEAT and COLD) will continue as long as the earth exists.

  100. 100. 1) Does God Himself ever bring changes to the weather? Yes, and often in judgment: 10 “Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit. 11 And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn,…” Haggai 1:10-11 2) Is the world today so innocent that it does not deserve a bit of drought? Will man's actions (less CO2 & different light bulbs) change God's judgment on humankind’s rebellion against Him? 103. 103. It is the theological backbone of not only Secular Humanism and Marxism, but it is also the predominant theological view of classical Postmodernism” (David Noebel,(David Noebel, Understanding the TimesUnderstanding the Times, p., p. 77).77).

  129. 129. “We mentioned earlier how the dominant “straight” society has apparently not recognized the strength and pervasiveness of the new consciousness culture. ..so far a polarization between the old culture [Western Christianity] and the new one has been avoided [1982]. If the New Age Movement does become a target of alarmed forces and defenders of the status quo ante, however, it will offer a widely dispersed and decentralized target, very hard to identify and impossible to dissuade or subvert from its life-serving values.” New Age Postmodernist at the U.N., Donald Keyes, Earth at Omega, p.88
  130. 130. • Disillusioned Marxists became Postmodernists and now gain strength through Multiculturalism and its stepchild, Political Correctness, which is rightly labeled, “Cultural Marxism”. • Marx and Lenin taught that, given the chance, European workers would overthrow capitalist governments and replace them with communism. • But after the Russian revolution of 1917 the Western European workers did not support the Communist revolution or ideas. • Why not?
  131. 131. • Christianity and its moral and ethical absolutes wasChristianity and its moral and ethical absolutes was the roadblock to the expansion of Marxism.the roadblock to the expansion of Marxism. • This roadblock was noticed by two Marxist theorists in 1919: Italian, Antonio Gramsci and Hungarian, Georg Lukacs. • These two men decided that the spread of Communism could only be accomplished if Western Christian culture was destroyed. • So Lukacs introduced sex education into the public schools of Hungary,1919, believing that if children knew more about sex their lust for it would overpower their Christian morals!
  132. 132. • So Gramsci and Lukacs laid the groundwork to change communism from economic termseconomic terms (ownership of private property is evil) into culturalcultural terms.terms. (tolerance, sex ed, drug ed, change, etc.) • ““Change”=depart from old, intolerant ways.Change”=depart from old, intolerant ways. • Then in 1923 at Frankfurt University in Germany the Institute for Social Research was established=The Frankfurt School. • The Frankfurt School moved to New York City in 1933 when Hitler came to power. • Theorists like Wilhelm Reich, Eric Fromm, Max Horkheimer, Herbert Marcuse, etc.
  133. 133. • The Frankfurt School invented “Critical Theory” which had the goal of demonizing all traditional institutions such as family, fatherhood, patriotism, Bible-believing churches, traditions, etc. • The Frankfurt School published Studies in Prejudice which taught that anyone who believes in traditional Western Christian culture is prejudiced, a “racist” or “sexist” or “fascist” or is mentally unstable. • Mixing Freud with Marx, they perfected the technique of psychological conditioning—thus, for example, TV shows abortion to be normal behavior. • TV shows Christians to be crazy, intolerant, bigoted, judgmental fools.
  134. 134. • Herbert Marcuse, working with Hollywood friends, became a leading “evangelist” of Cultural Marxism (Political Correctness) especially on the university campuses of USA. • “In his book Eros and Civilization, he argued that by freeing sex from any restraints, we could elevate the pleasure principle over the reality principle and create a society with no work, only play (Marcuse coined the phrase, “Make love, not war”). Marcuse also argued for what he called “liberating tolerance,” which he defined as tolerance for all ideas coming from the Left and intolerance for any ideas coming from the

In the late 1960’s Marcuse became the chief “guru” of the New Left, and he injected the cultural Marxism of the Frankfurt School into the baby boom generation, to the point where it is now America’s state ideology. • The next conservatism should unmask multicul- turalism and Political Correctness and tell the American people what they really are: cultural Marxism. Its goal remains that Lukacs and Gramsci set in 1919: destroying Western culture and the Christian religion. [see: Wm. Lind, “Cultural Marxism”[see: Wm. 137. 137. A bit of history regarding the silencing of views opposed to the “Left.” • Since about 1919 Marxists have been silencing any opposition to socialist ideas and propaganda. • Under Joseph Stalin’s rule the opposition was imprisoned, put in psychiatric hospitals or shot. • The media (TV, radio, newspapers, magazines) were only permitted to represent one view (Socialism). • Any movement away from the elitist government position was met with instant and severe judgment.

  145. 145. A single volcano spews more "greenhouse gasses" into the atmosphere than mankind has produced since the industrial revolution. That level of volcanic pollution, over which man has no control whatsoever, can be compared to the immensity of our sin, inherited from Adam (Isaiah 64:6), which we can by no means reverse or resolve on our own.
  146. 146. Isaiah 64:6Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
  147. 147. With this backdrop in mind, just as it is impossible to reverse the pollution produced by a volcano and its impact on any so-called "global warming" by switching to a new type of light bulb, so it is impossible to earn our way into heaven by any works of righteousness which we have done, however many or sincere (Titus 3:4-7; Ephesians 2:8-10).
