Will beverage prices rise above the 10cent deposit? No. The Boomerang Model is designed to operate at a surplus after covering all CDS costs. What‟s the cost to the economy? The 2011 CRIS for environment ministers estimated $1.4b over 20 years.* That‟s $3.18 per person per year or 6cents a week. *note: we believe this figure overstates the costs of CD.
