Assessment Task <ul><li>Fantastic Places: Assessment Task </li></ul><ul><li>You have been asked by the council to produce a poster for a library display called ‘Fantastic Places.’ The wall display is aimed at fourteen year olds. It is hoped that the display will encourage young people to ‘get out and about’ in a way that respects the environment. </li></ul>
  3. 3. <ul><li>Your poster will need… </li></ul><ul><li>A title of your choice. </li></ul><ul><li>An introduction that states the three places you have chosen, where they are located and why you have decided on these places. </li></ul><ul><li>Information and a picture of each ‘Fantastic Place.’ </li></ul><ul><li>Your ’List of Do’s and Don’ts. </li></ul><ul><li>A map to show where your ‘Fantastic Places’ are. </li></ul>Assessment Task

Assessment Task <ul><li>Choose three ‘fantastic places’ </li></ul><ul><li>Produce three pieces of your own writing on the below things in draft . </li></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>For each place you need to say: </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Where it is. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>What it is. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>How it was formed. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>How it has/is changed/changing. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Why it is important. </li></ul></ul></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Produce writings or cartoons to show young people how to behave when visiting your places. These need to clearly show how young people can help improve places and how they can accidentally damage places. </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>Produce images of your three ‘Fantastic Places’. These might be hand drawn, photocopies or printouts. </li></ul><ul><li>Plan your poster carefully – it will then look much better. Think about whether or not your writing will be word processed or hand written. </li></ul><ul><li>Produce neat written work. </li></ul>
