  • This short presentation outlines the essence of major creative tasks assigned to the Media Writing module in the Limerick School of Art & Design for the fall semester of 2013. This is a short presentation to alert creative multimedia students in the Media Writing module in the Limerick School of Art & Design during the winter semester of 2013. Illustrations by LSAD students. Photos by @topgold on Flickr. For the record, I blog at www.insideview.ie, talk at audioboo.fm/topgold and share videos at youtube.com/topgold including several supporting Media Writing that I made with Camtasia Studio.
  • We support this lecture with reflective audio journaling.
  • We want highly creative work spawning onto 54” screens throughout the LIT campuses.
  • Scraped from a View Ranger visit of Cork.
  • These tasking fold into several documents, starting with http://bit.ly/mw-document01.
  • This process mirrors traditional communications principles, including creation, compression, transmission, amplifications, modulation, interference, disruption, post-processing, reimagination and retransmitting.
  • The topic sentence should suggest a narrative of time and place will follow.
  • The media text might be an image on Tumblr.
  • The annotated reference can be from a book, from a Kindle clipping, from a snippet of music—any form of media text.
  • You may collaborate on this task.
  • You will find people using clever tech by using Twitter lists.
  • Essential tech can push out messages. This theme might be worthy of republishing. (Image by Norah Carmody.)
  • Syndication is a gift.
  • Collaboration through reflective social audio yields results.
  • Share the moment through your activity stream.
  • The online collective of #octaver13 is worth following for its community dynamic and positive collaborative energy. Start at http://www.sassycat3000.net/octaver13-almost/
  • There is great value in listening to people who craft interesting narratives. Those narratives can often be reimagined for great effect.
  • Bernie @topgold recommends http://www.toodledo.com.
  • Bernie @topgold recommends http://www.wunderlist.com. You can add comments, assign to-dos, add files and completed unlimited subtasks with Wunderlist Pro (€4.49 montly).
  • Get Flickr on all smart phones.
  • We connect the Media Writing module to Tumblr for easy blogging.
  • G+ offers very controlled private conversations.
  • From Steve Jobs.
  • Being discoverable enhances your online credibility.
  • I’m very findable. I blog and talk about education, technology and being a dad to a very creative couple of kids. The Google Document at http://bit.ly/mw-document01 accompanied this presentation. You can find artefacts of related student work by searching for #LSADmedia.
