Successful completion of this subject should enable you to research and provide information needed to support the development of an operation / project/ production and to identify sources of material for inclusion. Specifically, you should be able to: 1. Identify the purpose of research; 2. Explain the advantages and disadvantages of different data gathering techniques; 3. Identify and access sources of information; 4. List and explain elements of effective information presentation.

All assessment events used to determine your result will be locally set and locally marked. In addition to an overall pass in this module (based on attendance, punctuality, behaviour and class projects) you must pass the following assessment event. Event Name :RESEARCH ASSIGNMENT For a specified topic or topics, research using various research techniques and produce a major research assignment or a series of minor research assignments.
