It includes hi-tech research and development industries. </li></ul>

Summary <ul><li>You should now appreciate that there are three main categories of employment type. </li></ul><ul><li>A fourth, hi-tech, quaternary sector can also be added. </li></ul><ul><li>Some organisations are involved in more than one employment sector. </li></ul><ul><li>Employment structures will vary over time. Generally there is a decrease in primary and an increase in tertiary activities. </li></ul>
