Infographic: The Difference Between Gen
Z and Millennials in the Workplace
As the United States is facing a skills gap in most industries, it is more critical than ever for
employers to fill their talent pipelines. And while executives have spent the last decade trying to
understand and work in harmony with Millennials (all 80 million of them), they must now
acclimate to the younger and even larger Generation Z. How is Generation Z different from
Millennials? What are their greatest aspirations and concerns for the future? How are they
looking for work and what do they want from their careers?
The goal of our Way to Work survey was to answer these questions and others about
Generation Z. We conducted a survey of 1,001 U.S. students that are currently in college or
recently graduated and within the ages 1824. The survey indicates key differences between
Gen Z and Millennials that are beginning to take shape and will soon play into the job market.
