  1. 1. Heart Valves By: Marco Central Idea: Your Heart Has Chambers, Valves, Veins And Arteries Which Pump And Work Together To Keep You Alive. Mitral Valve ● ● ● ● has 2 flaps connects left atrium and left ventricle pumps blood from the left atrium and the left ventricle it prevents blood from go up from the left ventricle to the left atrium during a ventricular contraction Tricuspid Valve ● ● ● ● has 3 flaps it separates the right atrium and the right ventricle allows blood to flow into the right ventricle prevents the backflow of blood into the atrium Pulmonary Valve ● ● ● ● the tricuspid valve has 3 flaps it separates the right atrium and the right ventricle allows blood to flow into the right ventricle prevents the backflow of blood into the atrium
  2. 2. ● ● ● ● ● ● Aortic Valve the aortic valve has 3 flaps opens to allow blood flow into the aorta then closes to stop blood from flowing back into the left ventricle once blood gets to the aorta it is sent to the rest of the body and then the process repeats
