Telling the
Pandora Story..
Pandora exhibition stand
Jewellery & Watch Birmingham at Spring Fair 2015

Freeman met with the Pandora marketing and events
team in July of 2014 to discuss their stand at the
Jewellery & Watch Birmingham show at Spring Fair 2015.
Pandora had booked a 30m x 20.5m (615sqm) stand
space at the show and were looking to work with a
creative events company who had proven history of
delivering projects of that size.
The initial design was created by the Pandora design
team at their head office in Denmark.
Freeman are extremely proud to say that we were
successful in being awarded the project and went on to
not only deliver a faultless exhibition stand at an
extremely high standard, but also secure Pandora the
title of ‘best stand in show’ - which of course thrilled both
parties.
What follows is a case study that tells the story of this
impressive project from start to finish.

Pandora’s designers had done a great
job with their ideas for the space and the
different areas within it. The designs
were fresh, contemporary and certain
elements provided our team with
a welcome challenge.
It was up to Freeman to create the
drawings and follow up visuals, to make
sure everything was structurally sound
and agree on which different methods of
build were most suitable for the project.
We then presented Pandora with
swatches for the different material
finishes for each of the areas and every
finite detail was discussed and agreed
upon before fabrication began.

Like many of the projects Freeman
work on, the Pandora stand had to be
produced in a very short space of time.
We relish a challenge at Freeman and it
was a case of all ‘hands on deck’ as we
progressed the project and produced
the stand in a little over 4 weeks.
The stand design did not come without
its challenges and both the 10m wide
unsupported entrance and the wooden
‘goldsmiths’ structure with its angled
wooden uprights provided plenty of
opportunities for our joiners to test
their skills and years of experience.

Finishes & features
A great stand design is made in the
finer details and the attention to
detail, and nobody believes this more
than the dedicated and passionate
employees at Freeman.
We spent a lot of time identifying and
carefully hand picking the individual
finishes for each and every part of this
design.
The curved walling, reception counters
and bar units were all created using
the same gloss white laminate that
was applied to the floor panels.
Likewise, the wood laminate used on
the central staging feature was also
used for all the other wood elements
on the stand including the flooring in
the evolution store. This tied all of
these elements together visually and
was pivotal in making the stand so
pleasing to the eye.
“The details are not the details. They make the design.”

The exterior of the stand comprised a
mixture of large 4m wide logos with
‘glow’ effect illumination, clean lines
and the ‘ribbon’ effect walling shown to
the right. This design was inspired by a
feature that Pandora utilise in their
high street stores and was a fitting
touch to include in the stand design.

Pandora planned to showcase the history
of the company in an eye catching way
and asked Freeman to help them create
a display area centred around a key
object from the origins of the business.
We supplied a replica of the 1970’s mini
that the company owner drove on the
streets of Denmark when he started the
business 30 years ago.
Behind the mini we printed and installed
semi-transparent fabric graphics
depicting the Danish street scene that
Pandora use in a lot of their marketing.
This was flanked by two iPad stands
running content which explained more
about the companies history along with
freestanding signage further telling the
story.
A great example of our attention to detail
were the Pandora license plates that we
had fitted to the front and rear of the car.

During the show days, the visitors were treated to live demonstrations showing the making of the Pandora Jewellery in the ‘Goldsmiths’ area. These goldsmiths
flew in from Thailand especially for the show. Live footage of the goldsmith’s working on the jewellery was streamed to the 103” plasma on the stage.
“The authentic nature of seeing Jewellery made live on the stand was a huge crowd pleaser.”

The sales stations were a key part of the
retail element of the stand design where
visitors to the stand were taken through
the Jewellery ranges by the Pandora
experts on hand.
The high gloss finish with illuminated
logos and designer bar stools finished
off this area beautifully and the walls
also featured five 50” plasma screens
that streamed content throughout the
show.

The Evolution store was designed to feel
like one of the Pandora high street stores
and featured large rear illuminated
graphics, three large illuminated jewellery
showcases and five floor standing display
cabinets with built-in iPads.

The bar and lounge area was designed to
be a relaxing space for visitors to unwind
away from the busy show floor.
The lounge area featured a plush carpet
cut-in to the white gloss floor tiles, two
sofas and three contemporary tables.
This area was further defined from the
rest of the stand using a shade of pale
pink on the walls along with the addition
of the two large printed light-boxes.

We also installed a large gloss white bar
with front illumination and a collection of
nine hanging pendant lights above.

The presentation room was the scene for
many different talks through the show
period and featured a 80” plasma, floor
to ceiling printed graphics, bench seating
and illuminated jewellery displays.
