A compound has the general formula G2A5. A sample of this compound has a mass of 10.00 grams and contains 5.64 grams of A. Determine the ratio of the molar masses of the two elements, G/A. Solution In 10 g of the ompound G 2 A 5 , 5.64 g of A and (10-5.64) = 4.36 g of G is present Let us assume that MW of G is M 1 amd MW of A is M 2 . So,  5.64 g of A = 5.64 / M 2 mole of A and 4.36 g of G  = 4.36 / M 1 mole of G From the formula of the compond G 2 A 5 , we know mole ratio of G and A = 2 : 5 So,   4.36 / M 1 mole of G : 5.64 / M 2 mole of A = 2 : 5 Then, (4.36 . M2 ) / (5.64 . M1) = 2 /5 So, M 2 /M 1 = (2 x 5.64) / (5x 4.36) = 11.28 / 21.8 = 0.5174 So,ratio of the molar mass of G /A = M 1 /M 2 = 1: 0.5174 = 1 : 1.93 = 1 : 2 (approximated) (ANSWER) .

A compound has the general formula G2A5. A sample of this compound has a mass of 10.00
grams and contains 5.64 grams of A. Determine the ratio of the molar masses of the two
elements, G/A.
Solution
In 10 g of the ompound G 2 A 5 , 5.64 g of A and (10-5.64) = 4.36 g of G is present
Let us assume that MW of G is M 1 amd MW of A is M 2 .
So,  5.64 g of A = 5.64 / M 2 mole of A
and 4.36 g of GÂ Â = 4.36 / M 1 mole of G
From the formula of the compond G 2 A 5 , we know
mole ratio of G and A = 2 : 5
So,  4.36 / M 1 mole of G : 5.64 / M 2 mole of A = 2 : 5
Then, (4.36 . M2 ) / (5.64 . M1) = 2 /5
So, M 2 /M 1 = (2 x 5.64) / (5x 4.36)
= 11.28 / 21.8
= 0.5174
So,ratio of the molar mass of G /A = M 1 /M 2 = 1: 0.5174 = 1 : 1.93 = 1 : 2 (approximated)
(ANSWER)
A compound has the general formula G2A5- A sample of this compound has (1).docx
