  5. 5. 1. Direct students’ attention to the wishing well.<br />2. Have them name things they wish they had and write their wishes in and around the wishing well.<br />3. Discuss students’ wishes. Explain that everyone has wants;<br />name some things that adults typically want.<br />4. Tell students that tangible things that people want are<br />called goods.<br />Pre-Activity Discussion<br />
  6. 6. 1. Explain to students that you are going to show them pictures and<br />that they are going to identify the pictures as goods or not goods.<br />2. Direct students to give you a thumbs-up if the picture shows<br />a good and to show you a thumbs-down if the pictures does not<br />show a good.<br />3. Show students a picture from the BLM A Good or Not a Good?<br />and look for responses.<br />4. Select a student to explain his/her response.<br />5.   7. 7. Good Collages<br />1. Tell students that they are going to create collages of goods<br />by cutting out pictures and gluing them on construction paper.<br />2. Give each student a piece of construction paper and scissors.<br />3. Set magazines, catalogs, newspapers, and glue where they<br />can be easily shared.<br />4. Direct students to create collages of goods.<br />Good Sharing<br />1. Have students share their collages with the class.<br />2. Direct students to explain how the items on their collages<br />are goods.<br />3. Use the collages to create a bulletin board with a heading such<br />as “Room 19 Does Good Work!” Help students understand<br />the pun.<br />Activity Continued<br />
