Best Buy Remake

  2. 2. Air Quality <ul><li>Women like things that smell good. So if you make a store smell good, women will like the store, and be more drawn to the store. It will create a cozy and comfortable feeling where they can relax and shop. It will provide a more inviting atmosphere for women. The plan is to place air fresheners in air ducts to circulate a good smell throughout the building. It will be a modest floral scent, nothing overwhelming. </li></ul>

Friend and Pair Incentives <ul><li>Since women who shop in pairs spend more money than women who shop alone the store will encourage pair shopping in things like friend discounts, and bring a friend days. To promote such values we would use commercials of female friends doing things together or shopping for new things looking happy. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Cafe and Lounging area <ul><li>By adding a café and lounging area the shopping women can sit down relax and socialize within view of the merchandise so they don’t have to leave the store and can spend more money. It provides a more inviting atmosphere. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Greeters <ul><li>At the door, there will be a pair of greeters both female to welcome the other females to the store, and to provoke the spirit of pair shopping. It will also breed more trust of warmth to the shoppers. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Example Shows <ul><li>Replace football example shows on the TVs and screens with comedy romance movies, and kid friendly Disney films to have a better atmosphere. </li></ul>

Envision Station and Picture Scanner <ul><li>&quot;they become absorbed in the ritual of seeking and comparing. of imagining and envisioning merchandise in use. “ So we will create something called an Envision station. It will involve a touch pad, rooms to paint and put furniture in and merchandise, and customize. </li></ul><ul><li>A picture scanner to allow you to scan a picture of your house and you can move and add stuff into the store in the picture. This will all help women to imagine and envision the products in their home. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Wishlist <ul><li>When the ladies get a bonus card at the store, they fill out a wish list that comes with the bonus card that remind you of what you want and what your husband can buy you. So she constantly sees what she wants and so does he, so it gives them an incentive to buy more and it helps him decide what to buy for her. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Reciprocity <ul><li>The store will give small things out at the door or mints at the counter so they will feel needing to give back by buying something from the store when they receive something from the store. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Service <ul><li>The store will include customer service desks in each department with knowledgeable employees that ask if you need help walking around. This will help the women get the help they need and get their questions answered. </li></ul>
  11. 11. Labels <ul><li>For each section there will be Big and High contrast Print labels for easy directions. Under each product will be high contrast, statistic cards for each product with the pros and cons of the product, and the uses of the product to help women determine the usefulness over the bang for the buck. </li></ul>

Higher Merchandise <ul><li>&quot;It indicates that women have an aversion to examining merchandise that displayed below the waist level.” Thus we will take any merchandise on the floor level or below the average waist and raise it up for easier access, to keep the comfort level. However the toys will be at a lower level for kids to see. </li></ul>
  13. 13. Video Lessons <ul><li>“ The stores also make enthusiastic use of any opportunity for education, whether with how-to-videos or free in store handyman lessons. These stores realize that the woman who is taught to hang a picture today will spackle tomorrow.” We will create lesson videos, like Martha Stewart showing how to install something like and HDTV or do something with the computer. </li></ul>
  14. 14. Larger Isles <ul><li>Since women need to be able to push strollers around and carry their bags through the store, or push a cart we will improve the isles to make them larger and to support a larger traffic flow through them. </li></ul>
  15. 15. Kid daycare/ Manipulation <ul><li>The store will feature a day care where mothers can drop their kids off and shop at their pleasure. The day care will feature toys found in the store. Remote control cars, jumping frogs, video games, ect, so that the kids are more persuaded to buy from the store and get their parents to buy them things from the store. </li></ul>
  16. 16. Colors <ul><li>The colors in the store will be matched and chosen to create a warm atmosphere. Similar to the colors at star bucks, earthy and welcoming. The colors would be moderate, nothing bright and too flashy. </li></ul>
