Gemma and Leontine will present SpangaS, an award-winning daily youth series by broadcaster NCRV
and producer NL Film & TV. SpangaS has been broadcast on Z@pp, the Dutch youth channel, since
September 2007. Since 2010 it is broadcast at 7pm daily, the most popular TV timeslot. The series is
about the students of the multicultural Spangalis College, the largest school in the Netherlands. The
series addresses themes that children aged 9 to 15 are confronted with. The primary target group is 9 to
12 years old. SpangaS is more than just a television series, it is a WORLD for youths. The website (www.
spangas.nl) is updated daily and links up to all the themes in the series. Issues brought up by children are
used in the series. In addition SpangaS has its own monthly magazine in print, a frequent e-newsletter,
DVD boxsets, a full length movie (SpangaS on Survival 2008), several books, real life events and a
theatre show (2011).
