  2. 2. This orientation is not intended to… Contain everything you need to know to build a fully blended course. Make you an expert in blended learning. Be the end of your professional development on building your blended learning online course.
  3. 3. Instead this orientation will familiarize you… First, with the blended learning initiative for MNPS high schools. Second, as a teacher with the Blackboard® environment. Finally, with the basics of how to design and build your own online course.
  4. 4. This orientation consists of three modules. Module 1: Technology Overview Module 2: Attributes of Successful Online Students Module 3: Resources for Success
  5. 5. Module 1: Technology Overview Gain familiarity with the online system that will be used in all MNPS high schools to deliver blended instruction, Blackboard Learn®. Develop a common foundational understanding of useful technology tools. Bring your hardware into compliance for accessing online content in the Blackboard Learn® system.
  6. 6. Module 2: Attributes of Successful Online Students Consider the responsibilities, skills, and strengths possessed by successful online students. Share personal reflections through an interactive online discussion board. Independently explore additional online resources.
  7. 7. Module 3: Resources for Success Explore the features and functionality of an active course in Blackboard Learn® from the student’s and teacher’s perspective. Become familiar with the steps for building content, discussions, and assessments in the Blackboard Learn® system.
