What did I do? <ul><li>Designed a Movie Making Project (MMP). </li></ul><ul><li>- Based on Lesson 12 A Small Soccer Match in our textbook. </li></ul><ul><li>- With the aim of fostering purposeful language use. </li></ul><ul><li>Encouraged each student to produce a short film of our </li></ul><ul><li>class soccer match, with Chinese commentary and English </li></ul><ul><li>subtitles. </li></ul><ul><li>- Involving connections across texts and contexts, interaction with others, and </li></ul><ul><li>negotiation of a meeting point between two cultures. </li></ul><ul><li>Assessed each completed movie and provided </li></ul><ul><li>comprehensible and accurate feedback. </li></ul>

What did I learn? <ul><li>Connection to the principles for intercultural language learning – Active construction, Making connections, Social interaction, Reflection and Responsibility </li></ul><ul><li>(http://www.asiaeducation.edu.au/alplp/pdf/ph2ptpt.pdf) . </li></ul><ul><li>MMP did make learning purposeful, active, interactive and challenging. </li></ul><ul><li>MMP did support critical reflection on intercultural Chinese language learning </li></ul><ul><li>and teaching. </li></ul><ul><li>MMP did encourage my students to take responsibility for their own learning. </li></ul><ul><li>MMP did involve the stages of awareness-raising, experimentation, production </li></ul><ul><li>and feedback. </li></ul><ul><li>MMP did inspire me to further explore the magic power of ICT as a stimulating </li></ul><ul><li>tool for intercultural Chinese language learning . </li></ul>
