The Schools and Libraries Program <ul><li>The Schools and Libraries of the Universal Service Fund is commonly referred to as “The E-Rate”. </li></ul><ul><li>This program is designed to allocate discounts to assist schools and libraries in the US so they can obtain affordable telecommunications and internet access. </li></ul><ul><li>Discounts for support depend on the level of poverty and the urban/rural status of the population served and range from 20% to 90% of the costs of eligible services. </li></ul>

E-Rate Plan for Killeen ISD <ul><li>District Goal for 2010-2011: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>$ Complete installation of 50% of district classrooms with the classroom technology package. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>$ Complete 25% of district campuses with their scheduled campus lifecycle deployment. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>$ Continue training and utilization of district intervention initiatives. </li></ul></ul>

Killeen ISD Technology Plan <ul><ul><li>Implement and support research-based, integrated technology systems and solutions that aid in decision-making and fulfilling instructional and operational requirements. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Ensure access to reliable and well-supported technology and network systems to meet the current and emerging needs of the district. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Continue to provide resources for campuses based on the adopted standards for lifecycle replacements and classroom technology projects. </li></ul></ul>

Killeen ISD Technology Plan Continued <ul><li>Action Steps: </li></ul><ul><li>Provide Fast ForWord intervention training to elementary and middle school teachers. </li></ul><ul><li>Administer online technology literacy assessment to all district eighth grade students to satisfy NCLB goals and objectives for student technology competency skills. </li></ul><ul><li>Plan and provide the districts second ‘Summer Technology Camp’ for district staff providing professional development training on applications and technology resources. </li></ul><ul><li>Implement solutions for a secured student data information system providing storage for student data needs. </li></ul><ul><li>Provide Technology Initiative for Parent’s Review. </li></ul>
