  2. 2. Range, Median, Mean, Mode<br />Range- The difference between the highest and the lowest #s in the data.<br />Median- The middle # when the data are put in order<br />Mean- sum of the #s divided how many #s there are<br />Mode- the # that appears the most often<br />
  3. 3. Stem and leaf plot<br />A way to display data by putting it in order!<br />
  4. 4. Lower and Upper quartiles<br />Lower quartile- median of the first half of the data<br />Upper quartile- median of the second half of the data<br />
  5. 5. Box-and-whisker plot<br />Used to organize and display data by breaking into quarters<br />
  6. 6. Lower and Upper extreme<br />Lower extreme- lowest # in the data<br />Upper extreme- highest # in the data<br />
  7. 7. Circle and line graphs<br />Circle graph- breaks data into parts of a whole<br />Line graph- displays data over time<br />
  8. 8. Tree Diagram<br />A diagram used to show all the possible outcomes/ combinations <br />
  9. 9. Fundamental Counting Principle<br />If one event can occur in m ways and then the second event can occur in n ways. The ways that the two events can occur together is m*n<br />
  10. 10. Complementary<br />When one or the other event has to happen probabilities will add up to one<br />
  11. 11. Unfavorable outcome<br />The outcome you don’t want to happen<br />
  12. 12. Odds <br />The ratio of favorable outcomes to unfavorable outcomes<br />
  13. 13. Probability<br />Number of favorable outcomes over the total number of outcomes.<br />
  14. 14. Independent and Dependent Events<br />Independent: The first event does not affect the second event.<br />Dependent: The first event does have an affect on the second event.<br />
