Najmon IFC 2014 May

  1. 1. The Najmon’s Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for He gives to His beloved sleep. Psalm 127:1-2 May 2014 Praises: • Sufficient finances to attend language school • Continual increase in financial support • Opportunities to share about the need in Italy Prayer Requests: • Reaching our full monthly budget • Enrollment in language school and visa process to go smoothly • Preparing for an overseas move This month marks 5 years since we decided to join IFC and the work being done in Italy. We took a trip in April 2009 to visit the missionaries in Italy and saw the need firsthand. Once we returned home we spent time in prayer and discussion before making a commitment. In May 2009 we came to the decision together that Italy was where the Lord was leading us. In the past 5 years God has been guiding us and using this time to shape us for the work he has called us to. We have been extremely blessed with the people we have met these last few years. One of my favorite things that has come out of this time has been the picture God has been putting together for our lives. He has slowly added parts, and of course we’ve never seen the entire picture, but that is part of the beauty of His plan. We may not be able to see the path ahead of us, but we have always been able to look back and see so clearly His work in our lives. Steven Curtis Chapman puts it so well in His song God is God with the words: “God is God and I am not. I can only see a part of the picture He’s painting. God is God and I am man. So I’ll never understand it all, For only God is God” I know the world might not understand it all, it might even look odd. We have chosen to live with family instead of having our own home. We have chosen to give away most of our possessions and furniture. We have chosen to go without certain luxuries that are common today. We have spent 5 years waiting to go. To the world it might look odd, but to us it looks beautiful, the picture he is painting in our lives for His glory. As we approach our move for language school this fall, it has been so wonderful to reflect on where we started and to see where He has brought us. 5 years is only the beginning. We cannot wait to see where God leads us in the coming years! We look forward to sharing this journey with you. We have asked for prayers for the visa process to go smoothly, so we thought we would give you a little more information on what we need to do. We will start by enrolling in language school. Once we are enrolled, they will provide a letter to show we are committed to one year. Then the language school will help us find housing for the time we will be in Italy. They will then send us the needed paperwork to show we have a place to live while we are students. Along with our housing and enrollment letter, there are several more documents we will provide to meet the requirements for a student visa. Once we have all the paperwork in place we will set up an appointment with the Vice-Consulate in Indianapolis to request our visas. After our appointment we sit back and wait. We have been told that it should only take 1-3 weeks, once we have had our appointment, to receive our visas. It sounds fairly simple, but we have a lot of paperwork ahead of us. Our prayer is that there would not be anything to hold us up and that the whole process would go smoothly. Visa Process 5 Years
  2. 2. The Najmon’s Ross and Megan Najmon P.O. Box 8 Batesville, IN 47006 812-212-4098 If you would ever like to meet with us in person, please let us know! If we are in your area we would love to plan a time to see you! This time of year is such an exciting time. It’s flowers blooming, longer days, warmer weather, cookouts, holidays, and graduations. It often brings signs of new life, but also change. This is especially true for us this year as we experience this new season and change in our lives. But when we think about these aspects something greater comes to mind. It is the perfect time to remind us of the gift we receive through Christ’s sacrifice. His sacrifice brought about a new life that is given freely to us once we accept it, but there is also change. Once we accept Christ as Savior and Lord of our life, change will follow and transform our lives to reflect the beauty of our savior. We hope in this springtime you are able to enjoy this time of year, but we hope you are also able to enjoy the freedom we have in our new lives in Christ. We hope you experience the joy that is found when we let Christ change us and let Him shine through our lives. Springtime
