Occasionally, we like to share these sponsor e-Newsletters with you, regardless if you are a sponsor or not. You are connected with Lifeline's global ministry and your support - whether that's through work teams, prayers, donations, sponsorship, or more - is impacting the lives of these children! Thank you! Raising Up Student Leaders in Honduras by Brenda Johnson, Work Team Coordinator It never gets old to see the smile on a child's face that comes from receiving a gift or correspondence from his or her sponsor. However, the Bible tells us that it is "more blessed to give than to receive," (Acts 20:35b) and the high school students at Ocotillo and middle schoolers at Gonzales are doing just that. In March, during gift distribution in Honduras, these young people helped distribute the sponsor gifts to the children. I was both amazed and blessed to see such fruit in their lives. They not only took each child through the process with great care and concern making sure that each child received the correct gift(s), that their items were appropriately displayed for a photo, and that each child was individually prayed for before he/she left, but loaded and unloaded the boxes of gifts, assembled the food bags, and cleaned up the church when finished. They were conscientious, kind, and respectful to each child. And they did it all willingly, with joy. "By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples." (John 15:8) They are learning through the leaders of the church and teachers at Lifeline schools to be disciples of Jesus. They are learning not to be just hearers of the word, but to put their faith into action and be doers, and by so doing

(James 1:25) Many of these older children do not have sponsors themselves and need help to finish their education. God has graciously allowed Lifeline Schools to add classes through the 11th grade, 12th grade next year at Ocotillo and 8th and 9th grade next year at Gonzales. In so doing, the opportunity to complete high school is becoming a reality - not a dream - for many of these children. May I suggest that if you are looking to sponsor a child, prayerfully consider sponsoring an older student who needs help in completing their education and by so doing, bless them. At the end of their education, your sponsorship can be transferred to yet another child in need. :) Simply contact to sponsor an older student. May I take this time to thank all of the sponsors who sent gifts/correspondence to the children, for your faithfulness and most importantly your prayers. Please remember to prayer also for the church and school leadership and teachers as they continue to root and ground these young people in the Word of God. Frequently Asked Questions Do I need to check for photos if I didn't send in a gift for this deadline? Yes! Sometimes we take photos for you that are not specific to a gift sent. Also, if your child was absent during a previous gift distribution, then you may find photos of previous gifts. If the children are absent, then we "carry over" the gifts to the next distribution date. So you may find more photos than you were anticipating! And always check for more than 1 photo; sometimes multiple photos are taken of your sponsored child and gift(s). What if my sponsored child left Lifeline's school, children's home, etc? Typically we try to locate that child and give them their final gift from you. However, if we can't locate them, then we give the gifts to your replacement child. And if you did not want a replacement child, we then give them to a needy child (we first ask for your approval). What are in the bags that my child is holding? The black bags (Haiti) or pink & white bags (Honduras) in your photos are the food bags you purchased for your child. I think my photo is incorrect. Unfortunately, errors do occur. Simply contact so that we can investigate and resolve any problems. I can't find my gift photos. Email with your name and account number and she will help you. Hope for Keily

Contact if you could assist to impact children and families in need in Honduras! by Darwyn Sanchez, Lifeline's Director of Schools in Honduras Hello dear brothers and sisters! I want to share this story about Keily. Keily is 9 years old and lives in Santa Ana, Valle (southern Honduras). We met her on our first mission trip. She is a special girl and was always in a hammock inside her home because she cannot walk, does not have good living conditions, and is the last of 8 brothers. When we saw her the first time in bad conditions we were thinking, "How we can give hope to her?" After a year we had the opportunity to go back and donate a wheelchair to her for her move around the house. (Lifeline sent us a wheelchair.) When she received this gift, she was very joyful and I could see in her eyes how happy she was! She touched my heart and I understand how God is moving us to share His gospel and touch special people to give His hope. Only God can do this. Thank you, God, for this opportunity to met Keily and share time with her! Thank you, Lifeline, for the wheelchair! This family is very poor; her mom was grateful to God and Lifeline. Please continue to pray for this family, they have a lot of needs. Mark 9:37 "whoever welcomes one of these Little children in my name welcomes me..." New Furniture! Hello dear friends! God is Good!!! Our house at the Omoa Children's Home looks different now. To all our friends who made possible this precious blessing of the furniture, God bless you. Our children prayed for this gift and gave thanks to our Lord because He used His children in USA to bless His children in Honduras.

Wilmer was a sixth grader at Gonzales Christian School who inadvertently got in the middle of a fight between two gangs as he was walking was school. Our students face innumerable challenges beyond the classroom walls. Pray for the churches as they minister to the communities surrounding Lifeline's schools. Self-Defense Class Work teams have the opportunity to impact the lives of the children in so many different ways, both spiritually and physically. In March, a work team to Honduras taught a self-defense class to the 11th grade girls. The girls were excited to learn some key moves to protect themselves. We pray these girls are never in those situations, but are thankful that they are now better equipped to defend themselves. Learn how you can impact lives on a work team at

When I see their smiles I thank my Lord for the opportunity to work in this ministry. This year I taught English from 1st through 9th grade. The little ones got very excited learning English. They were eager to go to the English classroom and learn their new words or sing a small song in the language of their SPONSORS. Padrinos! That is the word they like to hear. When they get the gift from the missionaries their smiles are huge; the environment changes and they forget the situations they could be living in their homes. Some of our students attend the church and are part of the Lifeline church. In the Gonzales Christian Church, they are part of the dance ministry, children ministry, the drummer is from fifth grade, they are Christians and are a blessing to our congregation. They give the good taste in every celebration with their energy and enthusiasm. In the future they will be the leaders of our church and a blessing to their families and community. There are good times and bad times, but our God is the same; He is good. And I glorify His name because He is blessing my people and changing our lives. Upcoming Gift Deadline Your next opportunity to send gifts to your sponsored child is July 2014. These gifts will be distributed for Christmas by the women's work teams in Haiti and Honduras.
