  3. 3. Unfortunately, even the best ofrelationships will have some issues and ifthey arent resolved they can lead to theend of the relationship. A person can gofrom being on top of the world to beingon the bottom of the earth when theirrelationship reaches break up point.
  4. 4. When your relationship breaks up, yourheart is broken and the pain you feel isincredibly sharp and real. Everyonereacts differently to relationship breakups and some will cope better thanothers. Here are the general stages thatone will experience when going througha relationship break up.
  5. 5. Stage One: When your relationship comesto an end you will feel shock. If you knewthere was trouble and a break up washeading your way then the shock might notbe as great, but there will still be somedegree of shock. If you were still happy inthe relationship but your partner ended itout of the blue, then the shock you will feelwill be very strong.
  6. 6. Stage Two: The second stage ofa break up is when you refuse tobelieve that the relationship isover. Perhaps you have been indenial that there have been anyproblems occurring within yourrelationship and dont want toaccept that the relationship isnow over.
  7. 7. You might try to convince yourself that it isjust a temporary setback that you will beable to resolve. Unfortunately, if yourpartner has broken off the relationshipthen it might be too late to resolve anyproblems that have been building up overtime.
  8. 8. Stage Three: Next you might begin toexperience some depression. Feelingdepressed is a completely normal reactionfollowing a relationship break up. No-oneenjoys ending a relationship and even if youare the partner that chose to end therelationship you will still experience sadnessat the end of this major stage of your life. Itis best to try and move on and keep yourselfbusy so you dont spend all your timethinking about it.
  9. 9. Stage Four: The last stage of emotionsfollowing a break up is acceptance. Although itcan take time to reach this stage, once youaccept that the relationship is over then youcan move on with your life. Be happy that youwere able to experience a loving relationshipfor a short time and put the relationship andthe break up down to experience.
  10. 10. This whole experience will make you strongerand help you grow into the person you aretoday. Once you have accepted that therelationship is over then you can move on andbe open to meeting someone new.
