Study Days at the Tower of London and the Old Royal Naval College

  1. 1. Study day for AS/A2 students World Heritage Archaeology
  2. 2. Historic Royal Palaces Tower of London has teamed up with the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich to offer a joint study day for A-level Archaeology students. Students will be inspired as they go behind the scenes and explore methods of practical archaeology. Using two World Heritage Sites, the study day contrasts evidence from both exising buildings and those no longer standing. This is an exciting opportunity to experience archaeology in-situ, discuss how findings are recorded, interpreted, and how we manage contemporary issues in a World Heritage Site. 11-4pm Morning session at the Tower of London, afternoon at the Old Royal Naval College. Up to 30 students, tickets £10 per student See website for full details and dates: http://www.hrp.org.uk/educationsessions otthetoweroflondon/a-levelhistorydays Images overleaf, from left: photograph of the White Tower, Tower of London; photograph of the Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich. ‘Very good - directed towards the AS with practical elements of conservation and surveying (fieldwork). Linked well to the A2 coursework with collating, recording primary evidence.’ Teacher, Brockenhurst College ‘It helped me understand how sites are recorded, and how sites are protected.’ Student, Luton Sixth Form College
