Smartphones

  1. 1.  A smartphone is a phone that gives the features of a mobile phone but also gives the features of a computer.
  2. 2. Able to send and receive e-mails. Able to connect to the internet. Some smartphones have a QWERTY keyboard which means that the keys are in the exact formation they would be on a keyboard.  Some smartphones have a touch-screen to react to what is displayed and to control how it is displayed (i.e zooming a text size).   
  3. 3. The first smartphone was made in 1992 by IBM. The smartphone was called “Simon”.  Another smartphone was made in 1996 by Nokia. It was called “Communicator”.  The “Communicator” was not a big hit because many people could not afford due to its expensive price tag. 

Some newer cellphones may have a web browser, instant messaging and e-mail.     Smartphones also have same features like cellphones. E-mails can be stored on a smartphone. With smartphones, you can install and save programs Smartphones allow you to organise your reminders and other important issues by providing an electric diary (i.e S Note feature in Samsung smartphones)
  6. 6. ADVANTAGES    You stay connected by constantly having access to the internet. You always can access to your e-mail/social networking sites from your smartphone. Information can be shared much with a smartphone (i.e documents) DISADVANTAGES    Smartphones tend to cost a lot of money, so people struggle to afford them. The keyboard size of a smartphone (smartphones with QWERTY keyboards) is awkward and tend to cause confusion. 8. 8.  Ever since the introduction of smartphones in 1992, a lot of changes have occurred since then, although there are disadvantages to smartphones such as their expensive price tag. Smartphones have been proven to be a very helpful use to mankind.
