  2. 2. PyCon JP 2014 ● Held on Sep 2014 in Tokyo (Every year since 2011) ○ 1 day Tutorial session ○ 2 days Conference ○ 1 day Development Sprints ● 545 participants ● 3 tracks (including an English track)
  3. 3. PyCon JP 2014 ● Conducted a session about Plone https://pycon.jp/2014/schedule/presentation/24/ ● About 100 people attended ● Contents ○ Plone Basics & History ○ About Plone 5 ○ Plone community
  4. 4. Market situation in Japan - # of Python developers increasing - Among them, on the Web playground Django developers are a great majority - Some developers use Pyramid Plone is well known among Universities and Institutes But, no obvious increase of developers or users...
  5. 5. We wish to spread Plone usage in Japan (or even more in Asia!)

  8. 8. Purpose & goals ● To increase the presence of Plone in Japan ● To let more people know about Plone in Japan ● For these purposes, it is important to hold an international event of 100 participants or more.
  9. 9. Targets - Web engineers (Especially to Python engineers) - Users who want to know more about Plone - People considering using CMS tools

Event Descriptions ● Date (planned) : May - July 2015 #Weekend ● Place : Tokyo, Japan ● Participants (estimated) : 100 - 150 ● 1 Day Symposium with 2 track sessions ○ Assumed 1 or 2 Keyonote speakers from overseas ○ Track 1 theme : Plone as a CMS ○ Track 2 theme : Plone, the leading product of the Zope technology ● 1 Day Development Sprints
  11. 11. Key factors to get more participants ● To have interesting sessions for engineers (ex. Guest speakers from abroad) ● Exposure to tech media ● Enough promotion in engineer communities (like PyCon JP participants)
