  1. 1. Fe ncingFencing is a combat in which two people try to touch each other with a light thin sword.
  2. 2. Fencing is divided into three weapons: foil,sabre and épée.FOIL. SABLE. ÉPÉE.
  3. 3. Foil, Sable and Épée.-Foil is a long, flexible sword; its made ofstainless steel, and it is 0.500 kg and 1.10 mlong, with a rectangular sheet.-A sable is 90 cm long and weighs 500 g.-Épée is a two-edged knife, a straight blade.
  4. 4. Competitive fencing. Fencing is governed by FédérationInternationale dEscrime or FIE. Today, its head office is in Switzerland.
  5. 5. ● Fencing outfits are made of tough cotton or nylon. ● Fencing has a long history with universities and schools. At least onestyle of fencing is practiced only withinuniversities. The United States holds two national level university tournaments.
