The U.S. Embassy Manila’s United States Agency for International Development, through its Science, Technology, Research, and Innovation for Development (STRIDE) Program, will hold the Philippine Government University Industry Research Roundtable (PGUIRR) Meeting for Agribusiness on Thursday, January 21, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., at the Sapphire A, Crowne Plaza Galleria, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

PGUIRR provides a venue for scientific and technological leaders of the Philippines to discuss S&T issues of critical importance to the country and determine actions that will help increase the volume and quality of S&T research. This is the first PGUIRR meeting dedicated to agribusiness where attendees will discuss economic benefits, best practices, and strategies for the adoption of S&T innovation research for agribusiness. USAID’s STRIDE is the flagship science, technology and innovation program of the U.S.-Philippines Partnership for Growth that aims to spur inclusive economic growth by boosting science and technology research. USAID/Philippines’ Director for Education, Mr. Brian Levey and Dr. Rey Ebora, Executive Director of Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development, are expected to participate in the event.
