  18. 18. SharePoint hub sites How does it work? 1. Recommend selecting a communication site as the hub site 2. Register-SPOHubSite https://<tenant>.sharepoint.com/sites/<site> 3. Assign a unique mail-enabled security group to designate approved site owners that can associate sites to this new hub 4. Add the users to mail-enabled security group 5. Run additional PowerShell command to give that group permissions to associate their sites to the hub site https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/SharePoint-Blog/Organize-your- intranet-with-SharePoint-hub-sites/ba-p/174081
  19. 19. SharePoint hub sites – Boundaries & Limits Sites that are already associated to another hub can't be converted to a hub site. You can create up to 50 hub sites for an organisation. There is no limit on the number of sites that can be associated with a hub site. Hub sites aren't available if you set up SharePoint Multi-Geo for your organisation. When users associate their sites with a hub, it doesn't impact the permissions of either the hub site or the associated sites.

Note: At this time, the special permissions, such as Deny, will not be saved. All the unique permissions on a file will be migrated to SPO. Inherited permissions will not be migrated. No user mapping (not synced, no user mapping file) Files will be assigned the default permission of the location to which it has been migrated in SPO.
