  2. 2. Declarative Define A sentence in the form of a statement. Example My teacher gave me homework last night. Picture
  3. 3. Imperative Define A type of sentence that gives advice or instructions or that expresses a request or command. Example Go clean your room right now. Picture
  4. 4. Exclamatory Define A type of sentence that expresses strong feelings by making an exclamation. Example I can’t believe it, and got an one hundred on the test! Picture
  5. 5. Interrogative Define A type of sentence that asks a question. Example What time is it? Picture
  6. 6. Simple Define A sentence with only one independent clause. Example Children are all foreigners. Picture
  7. 7. Compound Define A sentence that contains at least two independent clause. Example They may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom. Picture
  8. 8. Complex Define A sentence that contains an independent clause and at least one dependent clause. Example Martina laughed when her mother dropped a pie upside down on the floor. Picture
